 help to fix non boot IPad

hi Guys,

I would like seek for your suggestion on the recommendation shop to fix my IPad.

My IPad accidentally dropped in the beach (during low tide).

Now it is not able to boot up, cannot even charge.

From the charging port, can spotted some rusted sign.

sigh..

any shop that can recommend to me?

and do u think my IPad is gone now?

when i read the title i thought it was some ios problem or whatever that can be fix
from your story its more like a hardware problem
even shop not gonna be able to fix that
send it back to the factory or buy a new one, cost about the same

Thanks, done that couple of times, no luck.


Sad...but is true.
I heard from some friends, Mines do have some specialist who can help.
I will pay a visit and check it out.

I have a friend who had the similar problem.. he bought a new ipad because can't find a repair place sad.gif

I see.

anyway, it is certified cannot be repair. sigh

still under warranty, but the technician told me it is difficult to file in for warranty

Have you tried iMalaysian.com? I read from their website that they do repair water damage idevices, hope yours are still repairable.

As if water isn't bad enough, it has to be salt water. I truly hope your device can be salvaged. Have you tried to ensure the device is full dried and absorbed of all moisture?

yes, right after the incident, i wipe it dry and leave it on top of my engine hood

then when i get home, use hair dryer to blow it till it completely dried b4 trying to charge it

Sorry to hear that, if you have backup your data through iTunes earlier it will be much easier to restore back to the previous state if you get a new unit.

I thought there are a number of iOS device technicians here in LYN?

Also if you're certain its the charging port broken, you could search parts on eBay (non-MY one)

I sent the device to those shop who can repair IPhone and IPad.

the technician told me, that it has nothing can be done anymore

1. screen is not functioning well - some part of the screen cannot detect touch already
2. auto reboot very frequent
3. there is a white label inside the IPad, it has turn brownish
