in my humble opinion.. its ok to master or know everything ( mean know other software and being jack of all trade ) but the best is when u know everything and master in one tools .. if like u are now so skillfull in photoshop.. the next tool that closer to it will be adobe after effects and illustrator.. depends on what your interest. so focus on one softwre that u can make tonnes of it.. smile.gif

it's one of those, "my friend told me that multimedia is very difficult because you've got to learn alot of software..so I need advice on which subject/software should I focues more on." smile.gif

as mentioned already, just learn all of it and pass your semester but locate your deeper interest and put 110% into that whilst contributing only 100% to the rest. wink.gif

Cheers.

learn the software's basic knowledge . At least understand wat is their nature of working.
U knw, sometimes is wonderful dat u no need to search hi & lo for the COrrect software to do the good works.

Then see which type of Working stuff u r enjoying mostly.
If u r looking for High salary, i suggest u spent more time in Web Developing.

Gfx lines need more times & chances to get a same income level like programmer.

Anyhow, i guess u knw Btwn COding & Pixeling which one is more Fun & heart-content.

haha, i once also like this last time, where i had no idea what i'm learning and how to use it, but of course, ask yourself back first what do you like the best to do. and what you can to improve in, if you're not sure, take it as a chance for you to learn everything biggrin.gif

hey, afterall, life's all about learning right? being a 'one-leg-kick' is really a bonus for you in the future, trust me, it does, of course, one leg kick doesnt mean half assed la, do it properly smile.gif you'll be rewarded by hardwork 1

But of course there's distinctive industry out there you might end up, like either in the web, video/broadcast, motion graphic or even new media, well the possibility is endless as you said. Don't worry, do the best, and do do do biggrin.gif

ok first... i face this problem b4.. i studied Multimedia but at one moment i think myself... I'm NOT GOD and i cant learn all the things inside multimedia.

So, it will actually comes down to your personal skill.. what is your most preferred skill in ? drawing, coding, 3d modelling and etc.

And next was your interest... 3D or coding + designing ( web developemnt) or etc.

Narrow down each scope and i believe u can find your ideal choice.

jack or all trades is good but will u be able to master all aspect?
