Hi all, I am planning my next front component upgrade. May i know which of this to choose? Morel Dotech Ovation or Focal 165 KR2? I am into SQ, using Morel Maximo at the moment (plan to throw this as rear speakers). I like the clarity in Morel, but heard Focal can achieve the same. Please advise, which of these will you choose and why.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Zennn, Found out these from the internet;
Focal = about 90 RMS Dotech = about 140 RMS
As my amp is producing about 100 RMS, i think i will opt to go for Dotech. Is my reasoning correct?
Thanks

depends what amp u r using, and how much their ratings can be trusted....
if its true 100rms id go for focal, prefer more power than less. if 150w amp id go for dotech.
but doesnt mean 50w amp cant run 150w components, of coz la can, hehe..

Have extra power to drive your speakers...more control.

if u have already chosen just go with it.. but sometimes lower RMS doesnt it is worst, sometimes it means uses lower watts to produce the optimize quality..
best way to choose is to audit first..sometimes sounds produce better depending on ur matching unit installed.

BUT then again, both are pretty much comparable...

Thanks all bro for your feed-back. I am using Focal FP 4.75 as my amp. I hope the RMS can be trusted.
Will more bass hinder the clarity of the sound? Sorry for my ignorance.

Hi Xai-V-iaX, I am replying when someone asked "Depends on what amp and how much their rating can be trusted..."
Hi all, I am new to Focal, but i am liking it compare to my very old second hand Rockford Fosgate amp. I have a feel that the power produce by this focal amp is more refine and controlled. Maybe just a feel...but definitely better.
Just want more clarity from the speakers.

Well, Focal being your amp should not be a concern in terms of its rated RMS since it comes with a Birth Cert with rated RMS indicated. It should fairly churn what its stated.

Focal KR2! But if you purchase the Focal KRX2, please beware of fake ones in the market. We got a customer being duped on this set before.

Seems like most are suggesting Focal compare to Morel. May I ask is Focal KR2 direct from France? As Morel Dotech Ovation is directly from Israel. Thanks

just to tip in...get it professionally (properly) installed moreso if you go with Focal...I heard ppl saying that Focals are very demanding in terms of its installation. Poorly installed Focals will only make it to become mediocre system (although this apply to any speaker systems...lol..)
