Your own connection IP.

>> Check IP <<

Starting with 175.xx.xx.xx lags alot connecting to D3 Server's IP.

210.xx.xx.xx is the fastest compare to 110.xx.xx.xx

Check your IP. if the IP is not correct, you just reconnect and check again.

got do this or not?

told a friend to do this, it improved for him (for myself too)

http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/di...rts-information

all online games, and torrent will use port forwarding. Setting it into your router will enhance the performance/bandwidth usage of the applications.

I'm using P1 so I studied the concept and applied the settings to my modem. After which torrent downloading is much more faster.

Other games like League of Legends also got their own Port settings

Added on August 23, 2012, 4:07 pmuse this page http://portforward.com/ (as provided by blizzard), search your modem model, it will lists down step by step on how and what to add.

tht is why. Port forwarding is so under-rated.

ppl keep say lag but never really did these settings to their router. Some are afraid to touch the settings all like it's gonna go ka-boom if something goes wrong whistling.gif doh.gif

Try la. I've asked P1 technician also he said the same thing. Set port forwarding does a big difference.

QUOTE
You hear about 'port forwarding' as a way to improve your download and game speeds, but what exactly is port forwarding?

Answer: Port forwarding is the redirecting of computer signals to follow specific electronic paths into your computer. If the computer signal can find its way into your computer a few milliseconds quicker, it will add up to be dramatic speed increases for your game or your downloading.

AFAIK, port forwarding doesn't apply to online game clients that doesnt have a specific port. This is because game clients uses random ports in your computer to connect to server's port.

Port Forwarding is used when Game Clients are configured to use a certain port in EVERY computer. As for Diablo its different port everytime you connect to its server port.

Eg. BT uses a random port for its Green Light ( Open Ports ), however if that port is not open by your router, it will be come Yellow Light.

For clients software like BT enable you to CHOOSE 1 SPECIFIC open ports from your computer ( In Options of BT ) to connect to its peers, and your router will have to open that particular port, and it will be a green light, which means on what port forwarding is to enable the speeds of bandwidth and download.

For DIABLO III, their game server post is 1119. Opening your router or comp port of 1119, WILL not affect your bandwidth or speed what so ever, because the port you open is from your COMPUTER'S port. The communication between Diablo's server and your comp ( client ) will not differ.

TBH, i'm not home now, can anyone of you guys who can play diablo now, do the following and tell the result.

1) Connect to Diablo, and go in the Game. Don't stay in Lobby.
2) Alt Tab, go to Start>Run>CMD ( for XP )
3) type netstat -n
4) And find for the output IP that starts with 12.xx and port is 1119. << Diablo's Port ( Not your computer port )
5) On the left will be your LAN ip of 192.168.xx.xx, and there will be : at the end of your LAN ip, there will be your computer's open port. Take note of that.

6) Go back in Diablo and leave the game, and Resume Quest.
7) Do Step 2 till 5, and compare the port opened in your computer ( 1119 will not change as thats server's connecting port ).

If 2 Quest Game Port ( your computer ) is the same, then port forward that port ( not 1119 ), then it will be smooth.
IF both of the internal open ports are different, port forward will not make any differences.

Thats why i say Game Clients like this will have random ports to open in our comp.

Had this problem for few nights after 1.0.4.

IP change doesn't help, last friday and saturday on 1.0.3 green bars and lower than 200msec latency.
Now its minimum 400msec latency.

And before you ask, my modem uptime is over a month.

i believe theres an issue with the routing problem even if u get 210.xxx or 110.xxx. Maybe 210 and 110 is the best solution however you may need several tries to get the best routing for this ip range

Its not the ip address issue lah....at your area, how many people are sharing the DP?

If many people then sure lag lah...even if you have 4Mbit connections especially during peak hours and Sat and Sun.

nothing to do with IP. been playing with 175 and 202 and 212 or whatever. no lag since the patch 1.0.4 only yesterday a few lag spike, other than that no issues, the recent lag was caused by preload of MoP

Added on August 28, 2012, 5:14 pmbtw using streamyx 1mb only

Using streamyx, I have random latency spikes too. Happens once every 5-10 mins...bar goes red and within few sec will back to green...IP range is 60.5x.xx.xx

rebooted modem..router...pc...no downloads running...internet ok...speedtest ok also...seems to happen after 1.04
