Is this some kind of first world problem? Display port with 16:9 + nvidia = Limited Range RGB 16-235’ instead of ‘Full Range RGB 0-255’ http://pcmonitors.info/reviews/dell-u2414hNvidia seems doesn't like 1920*1080 resolution going through displayport. It will not detect as PC, instaed of HDTV resolution. What the hell? Im going to purchase this monitor soon.

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 23 2014, 08:37 PM) how do we verify the RGB range? HDTV preset resolution will conform the REC709 standard color gamut, which is 16 > 235. 16 being black, 235 being white. This is also called limited range. Blu-ray, consoles and hdmi appliances all using this color gamut. While PC standard/VESA have full range from 0 > 255. Display port is VESA standard. But it seems nvidia drivers has bug. 1920x1080 is NOT a VESA standard, it is a HDTV standard. That is why nvidia driver pening. This post has been edited by ruffstuff: Jan 23 2014, 08:46 PM

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 23 2014, 08:50 PM) oh..it's only nvidia bug? Intel/AMD confirm no such issue? According to the article, no. AMD seems to comply VESA or at least the first to have VESA new features.

QUOTE(zerorating @ Jan 25 2014, 02:20 AM) even displayport use 16-235 chroma? this is sux since displayport is using VESA standard, maybe the monitor request for HDMI signal from displayport nvidia should have limited or full rgb toggle on their driver for their premium cards yes. Because of the resolution 1080p is not a VESA standard. This is clearly nvidia problem. AMD, although not automatically, they have the option to change in the driver.

QUOTE(jimmy.soo @ Jan 24 2014, 09:26 PM) Just received the monitor from Dell today, very fast shipping I would say. Comparing to my U2312HM, it is indeed very thin you are using nvidia graphic cards with u2414h. Please confirm your resolution in nvidia graphic properties is under HDTV or PC resolution.

QUOTE(djlah @ Feb 6 2014, 12:17 PM) mine is nvidia. The DP is really buggy. It's either nvidia or the monitor itselft. I found out shutdown both monitor and pc, and remove from power source. Wait for few minutes, the DP can be detected. Somehown handshake between monitor and graphic cards has some problem. It does not wake up from sleep mode. When i restart the machine, gone the displayport > went into power saving mode again.

QUOTE(jimmy.soo @ Feb 6 2014, 04:58 PM) I'm using the same monitor with GeForce graphics card, so far no issue with the connectivity be it displayport or HDMI connector. Only problem using the displayport is sRGB issue yes. Got the RGB problem as well on DP.
