Hmm, just checked the price for U2913WM on both SG and MY Dell - a price difference of almost SGD70+ after discount. I guess I will buy it in MY and bring it over to SG.

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 12 2014, 11:16 PM) That looks really hot, any pricing yet? On a side note, I am looking at U2414M and U2414H - only U2414M is available in Dell SG, is it true that the only difference between the two monitors are just the bezel itself? |

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 15 2014, 05:06 PM) no pricing yet for BenQ. Ooops, sorry boss - typo, yeah, I meant U2412M. My old Samsung 226BW seems to be dying or something, everything is darker in color even after I set highest brightness, need to get a replacement. typo? you meant U2412M ? anyway, my vote still is U2414H, coz I want USB3.0, slim bezel and compatible with my AC511 soundbar *For U2414H, how are you guys getting it from Dell? Both SG and MY not displaying the model for sale yet? I would find lingloong or teng but I am in SG now, a bit harder for me to get it from them. |

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 15 2014, 05:45 PM) just try to call dell sales toll free to ask for it. RM859 quote by Dell Malaysia. Please try Dell SG and share with us, how is the quote is. Hmm, just called - it seems that it is still cheaper in M'sia though. I was quoted at SGD360 (including GST and delivery) with 3 years warranty (1-to-1 premium exchange), and it will take 3-5 working days to reach me. If I get two then it will be just $10 off for each, and that's it. SGD360 is around RM930, Dell M'sia RM859 is still RM70 cheaper. |

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Jan 15 2014, 06:08 PM) Lost count lol it followed me from M'sia to SG and I liked it so much that I was looking for second-hand of it in the market. There was a working one for SGD50 but someone got to it first. Now finally getting a replacement for it, hope the new one last as long as it did too |

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Jan 15 2014, 06:22 PM) haha i see...why not considering 30" ones Haha, if my wife catches me buying a big ass monitor to game, she will literally send me to heaven Hmm, bout to buy Dell U2414H at SGD360 (RM950) but just saw a promotion for XL2411T at SGD399 (RM1050). Tried checking reviews but nothing much on XL2411T so far, any comments? Not sure if the extra RM100 is worth while or to. |

QUOTE(faezfahmi618 @ Jan 20 2014, 06:47 AM) Thanks for the link but gonna go with Dell since their presence/support in SG seems better (based on forum folks + customer service). Calling to order the monitor in a while, hopefully can unwrap it before CNY starts |

QUOTE(fujkenasai @ Jan 20 2014, 11:20 AM) A Samsung 226BW, it is getting dimmer and have 1-2 dead/stuck pixels from what I can see. Realized the dead pixels when I keep seeing a mole on my wife's face (my desktop wallpaper) lol. I seen people selling it for SGD50 in SG but not sure that it is worthwhile to sell, probably keep as spare monitor for my future second home media PC. |

Still got a baby on the way and I need to save for a house in this kiasuland - bloody overpriced bird cage houses lol.besides, throw in an extra monitor. use dual can boost productivity and simplifies things Yo guys - anyone did Dell warranty in M'sia before? Is it easy and straight-forward? I just realized teng's pricing is so much better and lol, planning to skip the SG Dell lady already. |

QUOTE(EvOKIdZ @ Jan 21 2014, 12:55 PM) Any bro can give me some suggestion? I was looking at Asus MX279H also but I realized that the stand is quite ugly IMO. Just note that you shouldn't rely on the built in speakers as they are just icing/decent only (even if they stick Bang & Olufsen name on it). Additionally I dislike their customer service, I have sent in my notebook for servicing and it has been 2 frigging weeks with not a single update (they promised me to call within 5 working days). To make it worse, this is not the first time that their service is so crappy for me Still cannot decide which monitor to buy.. I like the DELL U2414H design but the problem is only 24" I wish to get 27" but S2740L is glossy screen. Asus MX279H also framless AH-IPS.. what do you guys think of this monitor *I am using a 22" now and for me, 24" seems nice enough |

QUOTE(sai86 @ Jan 21 2014, 01:31 PM) +1. Wow, tri-23". I would want to do a double or tri-24" with U2414H but judging from my miniscule corner to place my PC and stuff, I will have to make do with a 24" only. Additionally, too pricey to splurge on three of it in one go, I will get murdered but i really dislike the market having very scarce amount of 16:10 monitor. even u2713h is a 16:9. coming from single 23" to tri-23" back to single 27", i'll say single 27"/30" is the best to keep things tidy and simple. the horror of insufficient space of tri-monitor is juz Agree on the built in speakers, not very worthy to get it. OT: my asus lappie sent in warranty for screen replacement (got bubble on the lcd, mcm screen protector application fail by asos.) takes 1 mths. (send in after 5 days purchase.) *On Asus, major bs - called their call center to no avail. The lady said that she don't know what is the delay and she will escalate it, despite the fact that this is my third chaser call to get status update and the service center never responded to any of the escalations at all djlah: teng's price is lower now, and it is cheaper even if I take 5 years warranty from teng than what SG Dell can offer with 3 years warranty only (SGD360 / RM950). Only prob is claiming the warranty itself, I would have to come back to M'sia to get MY Dell service instead of SG. Pity that they don't offer international warranty for this. |

QUOTE(djlah @ Jan 21 2014, 04:27 PM) how much teng quote for 5 years warranty? you're right, monitor no international warranty. but you should be no problem just go to JB? Only problem for me is, I need teng to send this to Kelantan and then fly back to SG with the monitor as hand-carry (which I am still not sure if I am allowed to), and if anything wrong, to call Dell courier to meet me at JB on weekends. The story is a bit long but yeah, more tedious than to just pay more and less warranty in SG (which is actually quite a bit of a loss to bear with).*Teng quoted me at RM830 for 3 years and RM900 for 5 years which is seriously awesome, I am just finalizing on my contact details and hopefully a new monitor in Kelantan this CNY |

Bought U2414H from Dell SG in the end, decided to save the hassle of lugging a monitor all the way from Kelantan to SG. Thanks to teng for the really professional attitude, I wish that I could buy from him but I just gotta hope the monitor will last as long as my old one
*FYI to those who wonder how much, it is SGD350 for 3 years warranty and it took 3 days to process/deliver to my doorstep. More expensive with less warranty compared to what teng offered but not much choices for me since I am in SG now. EDIT: Forgot to mention, the monitor looks awesomeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee on my games (tried CS:GO, DOTA2, XCOM, Skyrim, etc). Slight lag/drag at first during my game of DOTA2 whenever people are spamming skills altogether but it seems to be better after a while (will need to check this out later). Haven't play much of the settings yet, busy with CNY stuff but not really appreciating the touch-based controls, I am still too attached to good old clicky buttons I guess. Anyone have any issue with U2414H so far? Whenever I was away and the machine goes to sleep mode and the monitor will not wake up even after I tapped some keys on the keyboard/mouse. It just displays the no signal detected message and will not wake up even if I pull and replugged in the cables.
*100% that the machine is still running cause it is okay (the display was changed to 600*400 as if there was no U2414H detected) after I plugged in my old monitor. |

QUOTE(djlah @ Apr 15 2014, 10:50 AM) No, don't have such issue. I guess there's normal via DP for the setting revert to smallest resolution as happen to mine as well when I switch off the monitor when away while system still running, which I found this when I remote my desktop. Keyboard (front port) and mouse (back port) to my PC directly. The only device connected to the monitor for power is my Razer headset. The main issue with this sleeping and not waking up causing me to restart the machine or go plug in my old monitor again, hmmm...wondering if I need to utilize my Dell warranty or not.back to your issue, how you connect your mouse and keyboard? |
