QUOTE(erik8lyt @ Mar 22 2013, 07:04 PM) Is it consider as HD if I set 1280x720 resolution from S20B300B since its max resolution is 1600x900? 1600x900 is already hd.setting it lesser than the maximum on ure screen not advisable. The pixel/inch on the screen is adjusted to allocate each pixel on a 1:1. when u do a 1280x720 and strech it. ure streching the pixels. hence y it doesnt look sharp. Unless u set on ure video driver and monitor 1:1 with maintain aspect ratio but u will get black bars at the top/bottom and sides. |

QUOTE(erik8lyt @ Mar 22 2013, 08:19 PM) Actually I'm using S22B350 now. I doesn't set to native resolution because the font looks smaller even I change font size from Control Panel and therefore I set to 1280x800 resolution after I've tried several resolutions so that I can view better. http://www.samsung.com/my/consumer/pc-peri...r/LS22B350HS/XMNative : 1920x1080 To make u understand better think that theres on ure screen theres exactly 1920x1080 pixels on it so each pixel gets a color etc. when u set a lower resolution and make it strech on that screen say a 1280x720 ( not 800) cause u want to maintain a 16:9 ratio as per ure native screen. Each pixel on ure 1280x720 is streched on 2.25 pixels on the screen. so hence y u loose sharpness. unless u maintain aspect ratio hence u will get a 1280x720 with black bars top/bottom and both right/left. but u will get perfect 1:1. |

QUOTE(erik8lyt @ Mar 23 2013, 12:11 AM) hmm kindda depends on pixel per inch...ppi or pixel pitchbasic sizes n reso 23inch - 1920x1080 - 95.78 PPI, 0.2652mm pixel pitch 27inch - 1920x1080 - 81.59 PPI, 0.3111mm pixel pitch 24inch - 1920x1200 - 94.34 PPI, 0.2692mm pixel pitch 27inch - 2560x1440 - 108.79 PPI, 0.2335mm pixel pitch 30inch - 2560x1600 - 100.63 PPI, 0.2552mm pixel pitch the norm in my opinion is 23 at 1920x1080p for close distance gaming. its perfect. u see from above users on 16:10 24inch vs the 23 abt the same. those who want to game a bit further away without squinting would go for the 27 1080p. the 1440p 27 in my opinion is pure squinting. so big diff. the 24 to 30 6ppi 0.100mm difference so still perfect lets see ures 21.5inch - 1920x1080 - 102.46 PPI, 0.2479mm pixel pitch. urr pixel size is smaller than the 30. for me this means squinting as i am used to 24 1920x1200. thats y i bought dell 29inch instead of the 27inch 1440p which was just rm100 more 29inch - 2560x1080 - 95.81 PPI, 0.2651 pixel pitch. transition was easy on the eyes. it depends on user but for me using the 23 as base...higher PPI lower pixel pitch closer i got to be to see or squinting. QUOTE(Ulysses @ Mar 23 2013, 07:01 AM) Read on the data. It means compared to23,27 1080p, 24,29 n 30.. Ure screen pixel size is way smaller n harder to read based on equal viewing distance. Any other than that each to his own. Some born with eagle eye some born almost blind lol. Choose a fit. If u find ure 21.5 is good think then 27 1440p will be ure next choice. Unlike me i hate it. Ud be suprised how many ppl prefer 27 1080p with a longer viewing distance. This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 23 2013, 07:56 AM |

QUOTE(Jet23sky @ Mar 23 2013, 10:34 AM) Gosh, i just called Dell helpdesk to enquire the price of U2413. And its around RM2k..... U2413 is Premier Color like U2713H. Yeah its about 1.5kNow I'm like lost........ need someone to recommend me a good 24inches monitor. They suppose to launch later U2413M. Cheaper version with IPS only like U2412. RM819 in Digital Mall. Con USB 2.0. so far only on 2713H and 2913WM amd 2413 all have display port out. Daisy chaining. This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 23 2013, 02:54 PM |

Only ureself can tell. 85cm from a 21.5 monitor with that pixel pitch?? If it was me.. Def too far away. Take note smaller pixel pitch normally sit closer. QUOTE(G_KeN @ Mar 24 2013, 05:34 AM) so, based on ur experience on 2713H, how much improvement is the premier color version compared to the cheaper 2913wm? read on thishttp://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2713h.htm 2913WM is the same as 2713HM on color reproduction so u can read the difference of 2713HM vs 2713H. 2713HM QUOTE The U2711 and U2713H use wide gamut backlighting types (WCG-CCFL and GB-LED respectively) which offer an extended gamut covering 102 - 103% of the NTSC colour space. QUOTE U2713H feature an 8-bit + A-FRC panel which can offer a colour palette of 1.07 billion colours if you have a relevant end to end 10-bit workflow (application, operating system, graphics card, interface etc) 2713H QUOTE The U2713HM on the other hand uses modern White-LED backlighting which can only cover the sRGB reference colour space, offering >99% coverage according to the spec. It would be referred to as a standard gamut screen QUOTE The U2713HM uses only a normal 8-bit IPS panel and has 8-bit signal processing. 2913 Pros 1.2913WM has all the other stuff 2713H has except this two and has good panel uniformity (2713H seems to have a issue) 2.So far on bezel this is exclusive to 2913WM only. The design is different. Very thin plastic on the edges with a black bar of screen. Pretty cool as it puts the screen same level as bezel. No dell has this afaik. 3.Movies lol.. great for 2:35 etc.. aka 1920x800,1920x 1040 etc cropped which most movies are cons 1.Vertical lines 1080 instead of 1200 etc. This so far doesnt seem to affect me yet on the transition. Likey the 2913WM alot. 2.Cons movie 1920x1080p will have two black bars at the side. This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 24 2013, 12:21 PM |

QUOTE(G_KeN @ Mar 24 2013, 01:17 PM) oh lol, i assumed u own both unit, and i was talking about whether or not the extra gamut on the premier color units has impact on real life experience like better color during the movie or something to justify the premiuum several hundreds ringgit cost. No 27 i got a iMac 27. Apple 30, Two dell 2410 (110% Gamut), Two Benq FP241W (AU Optronics P-MVA 8 ms panel 6ms GTG 1920x1200) Premier color thing new for me too. Also all the premier color comes with pixel guarantee. Extra gamut is for pro editing. Color reproduction. No impact on moving frame rates etc. The 2412 is old n not up to date with 2413 fully capable. 2713H. I cant stand the pixel pitch. On imac cause of the osx u wont notice but on windows icon n font u will. Hence choosed the 2913WM. Btw quality on stand nothing beats the benq. If drop from 5 storey building confirm car hancur. 7 years champion rm7.3k for two ..still going strong n my fav monitor. This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 24 2013, 01:55 PM |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Mar 24 2013, 09:59 PM) Hmm at first planned to get Samsung S23B550V because it has 2 x HDMI port but now since I planned to get a HDMI switcher...mayb I will get Samsung S24B350H instead Dell 2913WM. U2413. U2713H, U3011 lToo bad Dell UltraSharp dont have HDMI port at all and LG IPS237L seems to have ghosting effect when playing FPS games Its amazing my 7 year Benq has s-video, hdmi, dvi, vga, Composite and even Picture in Picture. But if HDMI is what ure looking for go for S2340, S2440, S2740 This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 24 2013, 10:55 PM |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Mar 24 2013, 11:56 PM) I would think in the RM500-600 rangeIts either Dell - U2312HM - E-IPS - VGA+DVI+DP - RM549 Benq - GW2450 - AMVA - VGA-HDMI-DVI - RM599 Viewsonic - VW2370MH - AH-IPS - VGA+DVI+HDMI - RM539.. loooks good AH-IPS and Frameless like U2913WM. Cons so far i see on this is the adjustment on the stand. BTW Display port on u2312 is useless unless ure going to do multi setup screen using high end ati cards. btw AH-IPS are newer than E-IPS. QUOTE(Duckies @ Mar 25 2013, 12:11 AM) Wow thanks!Erm my budget is somewhere around 500-700.Erm how about Dell S2440L?It's AMVA also and it has HDMI port. But well it's glossy so it might be good and bad depending on lighting. saw that in digital mall. Infact i think u can see all the monitors in digital mall all it and their prices are very very good.Viewsonic looks good but is there an 24" version of it?Never tried viewsonic and benq monitors before so I'm not sure good they are.I guess need to see it face to face at shop RM699.. 2340L is RM569. looks like a nice screen. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_s2440l.htm theres a comparison against benq here. ghosting looks solid same as benq.Better than Dell E-IPS which is prone to it. Seems to be a very good A-MVA Panel. BTW remember most gc's nowadays are DVI, DIsplay port and mini HDMI. So vga means u need a DVI to VGA converter from ure card. Ure happy with the extended connection?? Like my TJ11, FT02s.. a few of them lol..cant do that cause the top cant close. This post has been edited by cstkl1: Mar 25 2013, 12:24 AM |
