23" Is the real deal, again. 23" comes with close to borderless design. The 24" has a thicker bezel. Already seen, and touched them in person. Available starting Monday biggrin.gif

Hows the quality compared to the U2312HM?
Is it a glossy or matte screen? Cos it didn't mentioned about 3H coating.

I remember some forumners here complain about the black level which wasnt deep enough, as well as screen too bright even when brightness is set to 0. Wonder if this version still have the issues mentioned. hmm.gif

Well, as mentioned before by CyntrixTech:
#1 - Glossy Screen vs Anti-glare + 3H coating
#2 - No DVI Connection, only HDMI and VGA vs DVI + DP + VGA + 4 USB ports
#3 - No Height Adjustment vs Height-Adjustable stand, tilt + swivel + pivot
#4 - Slimmer
#5 - Edge to Edge Screen (almost)
#6 - 1ms faster than U series

U2312HM's features are highlighted in green. You choose your preference tongue.gif
Not sure S2340L's panel is IPS or VA though.
*
Would like to add another difference:
#7 - U2312HM comes with Premium Panel Guarantee where else S2340L doesn't.

what is that premium panel guarantee? mind to clarify?  hmm.gif

Premium Panel Guarantee is a warranty policy by Dell which will replace your monitor even if 1 'bright' pixel were to be found within the warranty period.

Hi, I'm thinking of buying Samsung 27" LED S27B350H. Mostly use for watching animes/movies, playing BD.  Is it a good buy?

PS: Still in dilemma whether should just get 24" instead of 27" due to the price gap.

With that amount, I would rather get a 32 inch LCD/LED TV

electrical connection to the panel has disconnected from the panel .... U should be using DVI and the line should remain even with the OSD menu/ or screen prompt (exmple: no monitor detected). You should claim the Dell warranty

Bought it last week.
Ya, I've been using DVI since the beginning, but i switched to VGA and the problem still exists.
Both lines will not be visible in a white background, anything other than white, it will appear, including OSD menu/screen prompt.
I just called Dell support, they will be coming over to pick up my monitor tomorrow. smile.gif

My replacement unit arrived 10 minutes ago. Bravo to Dell Service. rclxms.gif

Not sure if its a new or refurbished unit, because the manufacturing date is Nov 2011, the faulty unit he took away was manufactured in Sept 2012.

Added on October 11, 2012, 10:32 amJust purchased this LG IPS237L last night at Lowyat

So in love with it, one word: FABULOUS

There IS really a different from switching TN to IPS panel, playing games become smoother, really love it !!

Honestly speaking, I really cant see much difference from the U2312HM IPS screen compared to my old Samsung 171N TN screen bought 9 years ago...1 thing for sure is that the samsung was easier on the eyes.

Latest U2312HM has higher contrast thus the very "vivid" colours out of the box, with the LED tech the brightness is way much higher than your 9-year old CCFL tech of which has worn out since (much yellowish).
Try compare both side by side and you can see the U2312HM has much detail on the colours (compare them using full range gradient colours), there you'll see the different between normal TN and entry-level IPS, higher end IPS is even better at the gradient colours, smoother especially at the end of the dark colours. wink.gif
This model is the hottest so far, I would go for the higher res U2713HM, just need save up right now, hehehe.... or perhaps save up for even higher density monitor that yet to come. brows.gif 4K anyone??

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Oct 11 2012, 11:09 AM)
The difference should be significant enough that one will not revert back to TN panel hehe. The viewing angle shall be the easiest to notice.
I heard that U2312HM has slightly high minimum brightness. Probably you placed it in a dark room?
*
Haha...true, the screen of my old samsung is yellowish, probably the reason why its easier on the eyes. I place it in a bright room with a window behind me, even at 0 brightness still feel a abit tired. The U2312HM has brighter white, which is why its a bit uneasy for me.
I still prefer the CCFL tech because if you look at those old light in our house, they are comfortable to look straight at where else those LED light hurts whenever u stare at them even for a while...
Ya the viewing angle is definitely an improvement...
