QUOTE(Archaven @ Oct 26 2012, 04:57 PM) hey guys.. saw an IPS monitor LG 27" 277L looks good and quite cheap. but i can't seem to find any review on this monitor. anyone has got this monitor and could share experience about it? thanks Im using an LG IPS224T so abit relevant All i can say its a pretty good IPS panel. No bleeding, no whatsoever distortion. Colours are great But ive heard of rumors that LG faked their IPS monitors response time which made ghosting effect more pronounced. But i can hardly see any diff Build quality wise, good too except the stand tends to sway easily which made the monitor shake around

Colour are great, since im using it only for normal use, i cant hardly see any difference with other model. "Build quality wise, good too except the stand tends to sway easily which made the monitor shake around" agree with marfccy with this issue. Other, should no issue soo far. satisfied with it.

QUOTE(G_KeN @ Oct 25 2012, 04:14 PM) but do note that some monitors have problem using hdmi (the overscan issue), whereby the display appears to be smaller due to black bars surrounding it. Yes, true.. But can be solved by disabling the overscan feature or slide the overscan to 0% on your graphic card HDTV settings Added on October 29, 2012, 9:34 amQUOTE(Archaven @ Oct 26 2012, 04:57 PM) hey guys.. saw an IPS monitor LG 27" 277L looks good and quite cheap. but i can't seem to find any review on this monitor. anyone has got this monitor and could share experience about it? thanks i own IPS237L.. no issue with it, awesome.. Im currently using HP W2207 but the colour and sharpness for this monitor could not satisfied me when i used my friend macbook pro to edit photo. Im doing photography so colour and sharpness is realy important to me. Except Apple Display, any other monitor are almost near to the standard with Apple one in term of those 2 aspect? I heard Dell Ultrashap and Asus PA248Q is something very good one. Any other more recommendation?

Does it has HDMI output? If you only and ONLY has VGA then you have not much choice, and you'll certainly encounter some annoying refresh scan lines across the whole screen (dark screen, black screen will be very visible) due to analogue signal issue using VGA. But if your laptop has HDMI then use HDMI to DVI converter, but I have yet to try this out myself so I'm not sure if it will work correctly.

And most of your sentences... DVI is HDMI without audio, nothing much about it,... or to be precise SL-DVI is HDMI 1.2 (and below) without digital audio. Using a HDMI to DVI cable/connection by-pass, you are then limited to 1920x1200p resolution of SL-DVI due to the legacy standard of DVI, and the limited pins of HDMI. Umm, I just can't find the good terms on that "refresh" thing that's quite visible when using VGA on my 1080p monitor, not sure if this is under-powered VGA signal or is it the bandwidth is not enough to drive 1080p pixels across whole screen. Please enlighten me.

QUOTE(V3nz @ Nov 1 2012, 02:29 AM) a question what is the different between dell u2711 and u2713hm? Quite a lot to be honest. U2711 uses better panel, but still uses power-hungry ccfl panel. Since u2713hm uses led panel, the thickness has been significantly reduced. and u2713hm has 4 usb 3.0 ports actually u can search for the comparison of both in the internet.
