S2340L is glossy, it reflect any external light (Like a mirror when the screen in dark).

Conclusion, Matte > Glossy.

well, glossy screen can provide more vibrant and cleaner images, but of course you will see light reflections and prone to finger print and dusts, meanwhile matte screen images are more grainy (if watched really close, much more obvious with matte screen protector) and blurred out the color. it just a matter of preference, i willing to sacrifice some picture quality with matte screen and also big screen with glossy screen is too annoying for me.

anyway, alot led backlit lcd tv are now using semi-gloss screen nowdays that take the best of two world (reduce reflection (just not as much as matte screen), provide vibrant image and cleaner image, and i believe desktop lcd monitor will starting to following suit as well, just hope that i can be implemented on non-touch screen notebook as well.

+1
too glossy or too matte also no good. so the balance in between is the best, semi-gloss matte screen monitor.

Today hor i go shopping some computer parts and I see this HP monitor 25XIIPS. i think i fell in love with that monitor liao wub.gif

but the response time is 7ms?
will it give some noticeable performance drop compared to typical 5ms? (for gaming of course)

if no problem next month ill get it for sure.

It's very rare to see a 25" monitor at 1080p.

What's the price anyway ?

LOL Good price but I would not buy it because

1. Glossy screen

2. Height not adjustable
