I noticed not many discussion on 27" monitor...is there any drawback on having 27" monitor? eg. size too big and not as sharp as 24" or 23"...

i'm considering 27" but when I read recent posts...mostly not related to 27" ...

any good recommendation for 27" monitor btw...

does anyone know if there are any shops around penang that has a 4k monitor (Asus PQ321) on display?
i'm selling off my U3014 to fund for my 4k monitor purchase and would like to have a real look at the monitor with my own eyes. i've only read reviews and seen pictures of it but never in real life.

Samsung got. S27B970D. RM2999. Bought mine at Samsung shop in digital mall pj. Using PLS panel n 3 years warranty by Samsung Malaysia. It's using a full glossy surface though,so a bit reflective, but the colour reproduction is awesome. Nice for gaming too, tried pc(mostly fps) n ps3 gaming. Don't feel any lag at all.

seeing as manufacturing processes are impoving for mass production, maybe prices for higher end ips models like AH-IPS will be cheaper sometime around 2014-2016 maybe ?

most 27" onwards are 1440-1600p. only 32" are 4K resolution which is overpriced (USD5.4k for a Dell 4K anyone? )

both Asus PQ321Q & Dell UP3214Q 4K monitor are using same Sharp IGZO panel, but Dell are much more expensive than Asus, (~RM17k vs. ~RM11.5k). haven't see any details comparison reviews among these 2, maybe the extra charge add on for Dell is warranty cost?

Yeah, I actually fell in love with the 27 inch size itself, Dell does offer 27 inch with 2560x1440 pixel but it is expensive. those 1920x1080 one just turn me off thank to low DPI, eventually I settle the 24 inch because of 16:10(16:10>16:9 ) aspect ratio.

Was considering saving time by getting everything from 1 place, but IdealTech no longer stocks u2312hm. Am considering the 2340L but I reeaally don't like glossy screens especially with my back against a window so reflections are going to be a nightmare. Any suggestions of a decent 23" IPS matte screen?

no more now and next  I guess   maybe current U3014 is last model with 16:10? else 24" user can opt back the predecessor are 16:10, U2412M & U2413. other 16:10 models launched in year 2012 I see before, E1913, E2213, P1913, P2213, IN1940MW & U3014. not many choice.

Ooops, sorry boss - typo, yeah, I meant U2412M. My old Samsung 226BW seems to be dying or something, everything is darker in color even after I set highest brightness, need to get a replacement.

Lost count lol it followed me from M'sia to SG and I liked it so much that I was looking for second-hand of it in the market. There was a working one for SGD50 but someone got to it first. Now finally getting a replacement for it, hope the new one last as long as it did too

Hello fellow monitor enthusiasts, I'm looking for a new 27" monitor that would be a nice upgrade to my 23" 1080p. I have my eyes on the Dell U2713HM.

Are there any other better alternatives than the one mentioned? I'm primarily going for the regular 16:9 ratio.
