I am planning to get one monitor for my laptop with GEFORCE GTX 660M

HDMI, Display Port and DVI all digital signal

all same quality except the bandwidth issue. DVI can support max 2560x1600 (dual link) HDMI 1.4 can support max 4K reso but at 30Hz. Display Port 1.2 can support 4K reso at 60Hz and can daisy chain with other monitors under one cable. also, DVI doesnt carry audio, only HDMI and Display Port does (in case u mau guna your monitor's built in speakers)

I'm personally using an HDMI to DVI adapter on my U2312HM and it's no different from DVI to DVI.

I have a triple monitor setup, two are using DVI to DVI while the main/middle one is HDMI to DVI. Digital is digital, the quality is the same.

My LED got dead pixels at the corner, is it repairable? How much does it cost around?

Usually dead pixels means the panel itself is required to be changed. If it's an old monitor (out of warranty) then just change a new one, repair cost is just about the same as your whole monitor price (old one after all).
New monitor has 3-year warranty by default.

Thinking of getting the Dell U2913WM monitor.

I use my computer mainly for browsing and watching tv shows / movies.

Got myself an xbox360 recently.

Is it possible for me to play 16:9 tv shows, where the whole show covers the screen without the black bars? Perhaps i could force the aspect ratio to fill up the screen? Any owners?

what cheapest and good screen for 27 inch available? mostly for gaming and movie...

not sure if it applies for xbox 360 but my ps3 have no black bars using it with u2913 .

Surprisingly it looks decent and I was under impression just like you that there will be black bars .
