If I'm not mistaken,

Syed (male) marries Sharifah (female) = Can name their children Syed or Sharifah.

Syed (male) marries Non-Sharifah (female) = Can name their children Syed or Sharifah.

Non-Syed (male) marries Sharifah (female) = Cannot name their children Syed or Sharifah.
*
Dulu dulu non syed that marries sharifah their children put Wan

Ikut agama aku, semua descendent from adam and eve.

Btw, syed ngan sharifah ni kat malaysia and singapork je pakai. Berangan lebih.

See this link of hadrami people, from hadramaut, yemen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadhrami_people

All over the world, kat malaysia ngan singapore je ade this syed and sharifah.

Berangan lebih. Pfft!

Inb4 bin Laden family pun tak pakai syed & sharifah.
Inb4 superior sangat ke?
*
nope, a lot of sayyid descendants from yemeni in malaysia still have contacts with sayyids from yemen, and they are still using syeds and syariffahs

it's a hereditary title, one that can be abused and bring either fortune or disgrace to the family

bukan berangan, tapi these families have their own strict rules for them to follow

but for some families, the rules are not followed anymore

What happen if we register the kid's name outside of malaysia since they were born there, but with gelaran.
Later balik malaysia kena tukar nama ka?
*
I'm not sure, but I dont think they can force you anyways

Because clearly in your birth cert your name has a gelaran, registered and stamped by the local registrar over the sea
