have anyone ever try this method on JB new ipad?
Regarding how to lock to 3g / UMTS network ONLY 1) Install "iFile" from Cydia (you can find it under "Featured packages") 2) browse to /var/wireless/Library/Preferences/ 3) Select csidata, and choose "text viewer" 4) Scroll to the bottom of the file and find GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x1 5) Select "Edit" 6) Change: FROM: GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x1 TO: GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x2 (FYI: 0x0(GSM/EDGE ONLY), 0x1(GSM/EDGE + 3G), 0x2(3G ONLY)) 7) Reboot. You're done So far for what i read, the process above is the only way i could found on how to lock to 3g but it stated that it works for iphone n ipad 1@2. I didnt try it yet as im affraid something bad will happen to my ipad3. Can anybody share experience regarding this matter. Maybe other way |

QUOTE(pablo7 @ Aug 21 2012, 01:24 AM) have anyone ever try this method on JB new ipad? I read it as well somewhere in the Internet. And for your info, I tried it. I use disk aid in windows ( some apps like a file manager which browse your iPad just like Ifile do to your iPad )Regarding how to lock to 3g / UMTS network ONLY 1) Install "iFile" from Cydia (you can find it under "Featured packages") 2) browse to /var/wireless/Library/Preferences/ 3) Select csidata, and choose "text viewer" 4) Scroll to the bottom of the file and find GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x1 5) Select "Edit" 6) Change: FROM: GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x1 TO: GsmRegistrationModel::fRatSelection=0x2 (FYI: 0x0(GSM/EDGE ONLY), 0x1(GSM/EDGE + 3G), 0x2(3G ONLY)) 7) Reboot. You're done So far for what i read, the process above is the only way i could found on how to lock to 3g but it stated that it works for iphone n ipad 1@2. I didnt try it yet as im affraid something bad will happen to my ipad3. Can anybody share experience regarding this matter. Maybe other way Firstly, I do not see the fratselection. I see other thing which is close to the meaning of it. And I did change it to 0x2 and reboot. I though it works but eventually not. My iPad will switch back to EDGE. What's worst is even though on EDGE, the iPad is unable to surf the Internet ad u r not connected to it. So , I am forced to changed back the selection to 0x1 which is in default. By the way,try at your own risk! You have to be total careful when u play around with such codes. |

i dont think can, the SBsetting only forces the ipad to use edge/gprs if disable the 3g....no option for the other way
enable data = enable cellular data service enable 3g = able to use 3g if available disable 3g = force use edge/gprs only |
