Borini is yet to find his footing in the team. In City game, his link up with Suarez and Gerrard kinda good. Need a little bit time to adjust and create a full understanding with Suarez. I like him to succeed.

a winger who cant cross is not a true winger..he may not good enough to be a forward at arsenal, but he definitely good enough as a forward at liv rite now..BR has said liv need goals from all over the place...with downing we cant get that..but with Walcott he'll give u goals + assist

dont look down on walcott...even rafa wanted to signed him from arsenal...i believe he have all the attributes to be successful...a raw talent....but maybe br can change him..like he did with sinclair or sterling

That's pretty good imo. We paid like 40mil or so for Downing and Hendo and their combined stats don't even match up against Walcott and we're making noise about paying 10mil for Walcott.

I have a feeling Caroll can be a very good central defender. If Downing can play at left back, Caroll can be centreback. LOL. You never know.

Looking at Dempsey saga, reminded me of deadline transfer for Simao. Back then Rafa were trying to sign Simao but the deal did not go through because we were unwilling to pay extra 1-2m

I think there is an overreaction to us not having made any last minute signings. It's more important to sign better players rather than just signing them for the sake of it. If you look at a line-up consisting of Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Skrtel, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Borini, Suarez and Sterling, we would be hard pressed to find too many better players with the budget we have. The likes of Downing, Kelly, Shelvey, Henderson, Assaidi, Sahin and Coates are good options to have on the bench. We do have a pretty decent squad and we just need to give the lads a little time to familiarise themselves with Rodger's brand of footy.

Nah i agree. Truth is we did pretty well this window. We've managed to get Sahin, Allen, Assaidi and Yesil. On top of that, we extended Suarez and Skrtel contracts, and did well to rebuff City's approach for Agger. Pity we couldnt end the window with a bang but Rodger should be happy having gotten decent amount of players in.

I agree. Good midfielders are essential for passing play to work. Maybe BR is focusing on midfield department first then maybe forwards next summer. Rafa too did not build his team in 1 transfer window.

Exactly. My fear is that there will be another staging protest against the Yanks soon if we lose few more matches. Just like the one against Tommy and Gigi of the previous regime.

Doubt Owen is the one we need. He no longer has that pace to get past defenders when he was scoring for fun for us. If you want him to score you will need to put it on the plate for him, clear cut opportunities right in front of the goal with only the goalie to beat. He offers nothing constructive to our overall play.

Drogba on the other hand is a dominating presence, he can both score and create. Unlike Carroll, Drogba knows how to make use of skill, off the ball movement and a little pace on the ball. He can still be good without the need of players pumping the ball to him. But his super high wages might be a big obstacle. I doubt he would sign for us for significantly less pay and for all his love for Chelsea.
