Borini works hard i agree but his first touch that day against City was somewhat poor imho..and yeah he needs time to settle..

Nah...don't think it's wise to chase for Sturridge whatever the price..The team seriously need a good finisher though..or u know, maybe Ian Rush can coach the strikers lol..

If Spearing is to be sold, I don't see Lucas going anywhere. Besides, he still plays an important role defensively. If he plays alongside Allen and Gerrard in midfield, the offensive roles are most likely gonna be handled by those 2. I still see him as an important player to the club.

It all depends on the opponents I think. An Allen+Sahin+Gerrard combo in midfield would look very attack-minded and would probably serve us well against teams who are looking to only defend against us, especially weaker teams at Anfield. But against better opposition, we still do need a player to disrupt opponents' offensive plays/counter attacks i.e do the dirty work. Lucas has vastly improved in that department in the past few years and IMO he's better at doing defensive work than Allen and we do need Allen to be setting up plays slightly higher up the pitch. Definitely not a backup player because, if fit, I still see a Lucas+Allen+Gerrard lineup against the bigger teams. It gives a more balanced outlook to the team.

Walcott's final ball is somewhat suspicious..but he has a lot of pace..but 15M? Not worth it me thinks..

Agree.. that kinda money would be better spent on a proven finisher..

Wouldn't spent more than 10M on Walcott..considering the fact that he's in the final yr of his contract at Arsenal

And also according to him, Stoke made a bid for Adam already but Fulham and Villa are also interested. So perhaps LFC holding out for a bid from Fulham to fund part of Dempsey's fee.

And apparently Andy's in London to finalize his loan deal to West Ham. Well, lets just wait for the official news. But so far this guy's been reliable.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. I see a lot of forumers here expect BR to change Liverpool's style with a snap of his fingers. The thing is about trying to play this short-passing, high tempo play is there has to be a lot of movement off the ball. If there is no man free of his marker there is nobody to pass to so gotta reset the play - the same as how Spain did it in Euro 12. There has to be a lot of patience. If the opponents are well-organized and disciplined defensively, it will be tough to find a lot of space in the final third and it will be frustrating. Pls be patient guys. Besides, it's only late August and they've only played 6 competitive matches. Give the players time to get used to BR's style of play.

Never seen Sahin play before to be honest but if he can be German league player of the season 2 seasons ago, I'm sure he's a lot better than Adam

If Sterling had Ox's physique, he would be awesome. Right now physically he isn't there yet but I'm excited to see what he can produce in the next few years.

As for Gerrard, I don't know what has gone wrong with his passing in the past year or so. Not as pinpoint as I would expected it to be. Probably 3 seasons of bad finishes in the league is taking its toll on captain fantastic?

Reina - Also another mystery. 3 errors already so far this season. And imo he didn't have a great year last season too. 2 matches in a row against Arsenal at Anfield he's made a mistake.

And btw, I'm not sure whether it's just me but I think perhaps Borini doesn't do enough defensively. I only watched the first half yesterday and the right side of out defence was exploited far too often imo.
