Why not get both? If small spending, use on SCB Gold. If you have a big sum, spend RM1500 on SCB Gold then switch to You:nique or HLB Essential to continue get rebate.

does SCB have annual fee waiver clause like the you:nique (i.e. 12 swipes per year to be eligible for free AF)?

What do you all think on alliance platinum cc? I see 42.8k points for rm100 Tesco voucher which is roughly 30k RM spent to get it. 100/30000= 0.3333% looks like a shitty return. I got the card when I bought my house and since annual waiver no more after 2 years and I hardly buy anything with credit, I am thinking to cancel it.

For Alliance, I'm using their You:nique cash rebate card, which gives up to 1.67% for all transactions. But this also rarely used because other cards are able to support most of my transactions, with higher cashback. Keeping this more for a backup for one-off expenses more than 1.5k.

Can anyone explain to me how does the cashback of You:nique Rebates Card work? There're different tiers and I don't quite get it. Let say I'm going to use it to pay RM6k bill, how much the cashback that I can get?
*
You get 0.5% for first 1k spend, 1.5% for next 1k spend (1k - 2k) and 3% for next 1k spend (2k - 3k) and 0.3% for remaining spend

Therefore for 6k spend, you'll get rm59 in cashback, as follow:
1k x 0.5% = 5
1k x 1.5% = 15
1k x 3.0% = 30
3k x 0.3% = 9

Does retail spend includes online spending?

Also, which card is this? Younique?

Thank you in advance

This is the You:nique Cash Rebate card.. there are 3 different You:nique cards..

Yes, retail spend should include online spend as well..

Hey guys, just want to clarify something about younique's cashback (the table on their site seems a bit ambiguous to me)

So if I buy a phone that's worth 2.1k with the card (and only that transaction for that month), I should be receiving 3% cashback?
*
Nope.. the cashback is tiered.. so for that purchase, you will get RM23 of cashback.. calculation as follow:

1000 x 0.5% = 5
1000 x 1.5% = 15
100 x 3.0% = 3

http://youniquecard.alliancebank.com.my/Yo...bates_v1.0.html

meaning with my spending power, i can only have 0.5%.

Might be off-topic, but you would be better off with the Maybank FC Barcelona Visa Signature (if you meet the minimum criteria).. It gives 2% CB on any purchase..

1st 1,000 = 0.50%  = RM5
2nd 1,000 = 1.50% = RM15
3rd 1,000 = 3.00% = RM334

Guys, in order to maximize cash back for this card (RM30), it mean i need to spend min RM2334? i'm pretty new to tier type of cash back. Kindly enlighten.
*
Depending on your needs & how you use.. Technically, because there's no cap to the cash back, you can use as much as you want.. You can get RM 200 worth of CB per month if you can spend 53k per month..

But if you're talking about maximizing % of Cash Back, ideally is to spend RM 3k as per above post, so you get RM 50 of CB (equivalent to 1.67%).. Anything beyond RM 3k, the % CB over total spend reduces..
