is there any differences between intel SSD 335 series and intel SSD 520 series ?

i'm looking something above 240G and it seem like this 2 series fit the bill.

so far the highest capacity is 480G by intel 520, any bigger capacity from intel ?

like what hmwgbworld said as well, though look at this perspective as well

Intel 335 240GB have the most best price to GB ratio atm wink.gif (next to Plextor M5S 256GB)

do the math yourself

also, Intel 335 using 20nm Intel Flash memory, lower power consumption if its relevant to you

because i was think either 335 or 520 intel series to fit into my upcoming Lenovo Y500 notebook.

price wise, is around 200++ differences for 520 compare with 335.

i was kinda attracted with the 5 years warranty given by intel for the 520 series.

it depends on your usage really

for casual users who arent speed sensitive, a normal 3 year one like Plextor M5S, Intel 330 etc should be fine

but for those enthusiasts who wants more out of their money, they opt for those higher ends like Intel 520, OCZ Vertex 4, Samsung 840 Pro and so on

but really, the 5 year warranty is good wink.gif

PS: bear in mind the Intel 335 is 9mm thick instead of 7mm thick. so it may or may not fit inside your notebook

thanks for the tips.

all the while i thought any 2.5 SSD would fit into a notebook chassis.

in the meantime while waiting for the new Y500 series, i was hoping intel could release SSD with bigger capacity, 240G is kinda low and the 480G is crazy expensive

viewnet from lowyat quote me $740 for the 240G intel SSD.

very tempted to purchase since 335 series is kinda out of stock in most of the shop.

my concern is will it fit into my new Lenovo Y500 notebook
