it depends on your usage really

for casual users who arent speed sensitive, a normal 3 year one like Plextor M5S, Intel 330 etc should be fine

but for those enthusiasts who wants more out of their money, they opt for those higher ends like Intel 520, OCZ Vertex 4, Samsung 840 Pro and so on

but really, the 5 year warranty is good
