when you do research, you need to pay attention to the time line; you will see that everyone was telling the truth at those points of time. you should already realized that in every few months, there will be new products with competitive performance/price/things like that. there is no 'the best' yet (the ssd is one of hardware that still undergoes very actively development); and most of 'the best' will get old very soon.

i'm not familiar with the pricing here sorry; but come on, do some leg work, garage sales are just few clicks away and as far as i could recall, the sellers there are putting up very nice price and performance charts for you already; pin down what you want and you will figure them out smile.gif

edit: to answer your 800 bucks question: i will get none (or perhaps 1x256gb plextor m3m msata; because i am freeing the hdd bay for 512gb or bigger ssd).

Best contender..

Plextor M5S 128GB SSD RM 299

The best value and good performance. Don't always judge on benchmark, judge on how good it works on daily usage.  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif  icon_idea.gif

for me SSD is about performance............
if dont want performance better using HDD.....

but the big problem is price....

What else is new?
You never seen a car with the price of perodua kancil with the speed of a Ferrari.
But seriously, IMHO I prefer reliability over performance...
even you paid about RM4xx for a SSD (Kingston, OCZ, idk), the speed compared to a RM2xx Plextor only makes little difference.   nod.gif
*
how can kancil speed same ferrari.... ferrari more quaity and more power full....

kancil top speed 150km/h
ferrari top speed 340km/h (2.2x more speed)

kancil price rm35,000
ferarri price rm900,000 (25x more expensive)

kancil get price / performance..... but still have people want performance buy ferrari...........
