Guys,

I'm thinking to switch the main HDD to 120 GB SSD & replace optical drive with the existing HDD.

SSD suggestion?
My budget is around RM300-RM400. Here are some SSD i'm looking at.
- Corsair Force 3 120GB
- Intel 330 120GB
- Intel 520 120GB
- Crucial M4 120GB
- Samsung 830 120GB

Issues:
I heard about Crucial M4 RMA hassle shipping LINK
I also heard about Corsair Force 3 stability issues LINK
I just want to verify these with you guys, and maybe opinion on the matter. For now, Intel 330 seems legit, but slightly slower than other. But I just talked to my friend, his intel 330 freeze sometimes. rclxub.gif

Any ideas? BTW any suggestion on the shop that can do reliable, hussle-free mountain lion migration service? my location is around Damansara - jalan Duta.

Thanks sifus.

Just go for the cheapest of the list which is Intel 330 series SSD. Intel SSDs are reliable and the warranty is not bad according to most forumers.

hmmm. will consider it thanks bro.

I'm trying to update my friend's SSD firmware on mac coz I suspect the old firmware is causing it to freeze sometimes. Once this problem is solved, then I will proceed to purchase. cool2.gif

It's suppose to be faster rated 75k IOPS.

That is just testing, yet to be optimized. I'll post some benchies later on biggrin.gif

there're so many ssd tweaking guides around including TS put in 1st page..
may i know which one is the simplest way and the best?
according to this site
windows 7 and SSD
When Windows 7 detects that you have a properly configured, fast SSD drive, it disables several unnecessary features, including Superfetch, Prefetch, and ReadyBoot. It also disables scheduled defragmentation operations for the SSD, which isn't necessary, and can reduce the usable life of the drive.

so how to properly configure?
some site has fewer steps and some have so many... hmm.gif

joining you guys, but i made the silly mistake of plugging my ssd into sata 3gb/s port then i was wondering why the heck is my ssd only reaching 300 mb/s read/write which is still really fast. Hopefully when i get back i will fix it.

And my windows score finally changed from 5.9 to 7.6. now only limited by my processor lol.

Another thing, it boots so fast when it reaches the windows 7 logo, the logo kind of loads then is just skipped cause its so fast lol.

Love my ssd, well worth the monies!
