Hi All,

Did anyone here change their kenari engine either kenari-kenari ori engine or to k3ve/k3vet? I would like to check on the price/issue/how for each options.

My old kenari engine not so good already (makan air/minyak hitam) due to overheat (water pump leaking)+low engine oil before. Thinking either change/ continue repair my car. My kenari only can sell ~7k to 2nd hand car shop.

Hope can get advice from you guys.

Thanks for advises. So normally full overhaul engine cost around 2k only? I tot it will up to 4k.

Lets say if i want more power on the engine, which engine will you recommend? those turbo engines seems like hard to take care right? How about other non turbo 1.3cc engine?

I stay in penang currently. Hard to join TT.

Just get my car from workshop. Serious engine oil & water leaking.

No overhaul done as the mechanic said fix outside first before aim for internal one as he feel the problem not come from the internal.

Changed radiator(not in good condition anymore), thermostat, belts, lots of seals, valve casket, spark plugs, flushed engine, power steering oil/hose, gearbox oil and many more

Total lost : RM1.1k including workmanship charge.

Right now the car run very smooth. Tak biasa jor.

Next plan: Looking for front grill, bumpers and headlights as my old 1 cracked here n there. Including paint jobs perhaps.

Gonna use this birdy for another few years!!

engine trembles, i would check alternator charging and battery.

sounds like engine mount to me.

personally i'll use the 1. stock engine, 2. bolt-on turbo it, 3. k3-ve engine, 4. k3-vet engine. any other engine is waste of time.

@kllam is using 3rd party engine mount set, he is driving a manual. i'm using genuine from perodua, i'm driving an auto. please note that daihatsu packing is not genuine.
*
Wow.. Which engine you recommend for long run. I'm driving about 80km+ about 110-130km speed everyday.

How much average mileage (KM/tank or KM/L) for k3-vet you get? Any things to take care beside temperature?

i'm still using stock engine, current mileage 220kkm+, redline whenever i'm behind the wheels, nearly 12 years old, never overhaul until today. so i would say, stock has less worries if everything is maintained accordingly.

k3vet coolant temperature issue won't be solved unless you're using the originally radiator from yrv.
*
i see.. mine about 14 years already. Need to topup 2L engine oil for every 1k sad.gif
Not sure if it's still worth to go if change to 1.3cc engine like K3ve/K3vet.

if you want it for normal usage with peace of mind, get a reliable mechanic to get the engine overhaul.

if you have time to waste, it's not your primary car, you don't mind the car lose it weight balance and you're hungry for power, k3ve or with turbo is the answer.

for me, both will be more or less the same amount of money.
*
You mean "both" :
1. overhaul vs change engine?
or
2. k3ve vs k3vet?

15inch 7jj. but i'm using adjustable absorber. 2 finger front 3 finger back. so far still ok with 2-3 person.. 4 people might kena. Tyre also need to find special size.. 165 50 r15.

imho.. better stick to original r14 rim, less headache.
