Don't overclock your GPU until you get yourself an aftermarket cooler (Which performs better than stock cooler).

Overclock = Overheat = GPU's health affected = Die.
erm, that's misleading.

if your casing and environment is not well setup, custom cooler will still be hot.

if your casing and environment is well, then stock cooler works fine.

and nowadays graphic card you can't OC much. those on reference cooler are on stock speed, OC a bit here and there won't hurt. A bit warmer but certainly not considered overheat.

If ever it overheats, you'll see artifacts on screen among other anomalies, so you're forced to lower it before you could even use it long enough to damage it.

see, you didn't even state OC to the max.

you already stated DON'T OC ....... that's nonsense.

furthermore, OC is entirely based on the cooler. So if the person is using stock cooler, obviously he will have to do it within the operational limit of the stock cooler.

That's still totally different from your misleading comment above to say DO NOT overclock until get stock cooler.

I don't know what generation you come from but many of us have been overclocking with stock coolers. The only difference between us and you, is that we don't tell people DON'T OVERCLOCK UNTIL GET AFTERMARKET COOLER as what you did. smile.gif

just because it's stock cooler doesn't mean you can't overclock, and doesn't mean it will overheat.

that's why we have software available for us to monitor the temperature.

Stock cooler won't work fine if TS overclock his GPU to the max.

stating the obvious, aren't we?

even you change to custom cooler doesn't mean you can OC to the max either, how about highlighting that part?

overclocking is about knowing the environment vs your cooling capacity and working within range. simple as that.

Stock cooler was designed for certain situation and definitely overclock wasn't in the list.

LOL seriously man. stock cooler were made with headroom around to withstand some overclocking.

in short - don't simply go around telling as if people cannot OC until they change custom / aftermarket cooler la, it's purely misleading.
