QUOTE(hanaxxaru @ Nov 16 2012, 12:14 AM) juz received xp3 yesterday.. how do u guys burn in the iem? For XP3 I started with pink, static, white noise for couple of hours, that immediately remove the muddy sounding from 0-hour.btw, thanks to walabies for make the xp3 deal.. Next I got suggestion to burn-in using great movie OST such as few from John Williams. After 200 hours I started to hunt for Vocal centric song, some bass-head, and different other genre, but focus on vocal more. After 600 hours, well.. I think that's enough, good for everyday use already. |

QUOTE(SpringBiscuit @ Nov 16 2012, 05:20 PM) ahah, all of them are great, depend on which you like the most. I always love bases but not a fan of techno or similars. As far as I understand the bass amount is same for all 3 models. The different is the mid-high part. If you going for bass, XP1 will be my recommendation, if you prefer balance and dynamic, go for XP2 =) So I guess I'll play safe and take the best of both world. QUOTE(noobandroid @ Nov 16 2012, 05:43 PM) err.. your review on xp1 is one of the reason that made me reconsider. I was about to aim for xp1 initially. |

XP2 will suit well in pop or even rock songs ...jazz like vocal jazz , XP3 will perform better...

QUOTE(nicholostan @ Nov 17 2012, 01:50 AM) XP2 is better for vocals imo. The XP3 is described to have a 'V' shaped sound signature. This means recessed mids and boosted trebles and bass. The XP2 is more fun and dynamic comparing it to the XP3 by all means. You might want to refer to midwestgoh's posts on the 600 hour burn-ed in XP3 of his. QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Oct 15 2012, 07:29 AM) XP2 compared with XP3? If that's the case then probably it's a yes? I wouldn't say it has more bass but rather the focus on which part, XP3 has V shape sounding, while XP2 is much balanced so the amount of bass is slightly on the mid so you feels more bass, XP1 is exceptional case (bass all the way). Instruments sounds stage is better at XP3, great at differentiate the instruments apart due to its detail nature, slightly analytical due to its housing sounding I guess, more "ting ting" than "ding ding". But because of this the mid sounds laid back, vocal song with lots of heavy instruments will pushes the vocal back but full instruments orchestra will definitely sound really nice. QUOTE(wildwestgoh @ Oct 14 2012, 03:15 PM) Yeah, somehow after I auditioned the burn-in XP2, I was slightly regret that I bought XP3... *sigh* oh well~ At least XP3 has good presentation on the instruments sounds stage. Going to burn-in more to see what will it become. Add: Found another way to wear comfortably for long hours for this huge housing. Solution is wear it over-ear, yes there's no mistake here, over-ear, it's even easier to wear over those normal over-ear type. How? While normally the wire is straight down, now you turn it ~120 degree to the front, then put the wire over-ear, that's it. The huge housing will face down instead of up, better insertion for those with small ear (like me Now, it's even better at handling the annoying microphonics problem, minimize it even further, now I can wear it up to 3 hours and still no pain around the ears. |

Have you tried wear it over-ear?Hippo foam is recommended by few but not sure if that will help solve your uncomfortable issue, especially if your ear is small like mine, I have tried many methods and settled with over-ear while need to adjust the insertion slightly. Btw I'm using the double-flange ear-tips. |

I'm also a spec guy so yeah, it's slight awkward but you'll get use to it.any chance where i can buy only 1 pair for testing? afraid if buy 1 set also din fit... hmm Trying is.. erm, I'm not too sure about this, but SLCG did want to give me a try but I bit reluctant due to my ear wax, lol... anyway now I'm all good with double-flange, it keeps a distance of the housing from my ear so it's all good. The housing finish is not the rounded one so it can be quite hurt when wear it for very long. |
