Buyers beware, this model is a super hot demand model. Stocks from Distributors even not enough to allocate for retailers. Yes Freelancers/home seller may offer you a beautiful price, but i doubt they able to get stock. So without stock provided, whatever beautiful price provided also useless. Donald Trump said: "An offer which cannot be delivered cannot be consider a deal." So it's up to you want to wait for cheaper price from other freelancer/baseless/SOHO seller, or tyo grab your unit from me who is a Lenovo partner. Your choice

This is standard set. It's a new spec for Y580. There is an option to upgrade to 8GB ram. And no, it's not blueray but normal DVDRW

if you want to upgrade to 500G 7200RPM, i rather recommend you to install a SSD at RM390 (your original harddisk stay) or RM370 (replace your original harddisk, and we turn your existing harddisk to external harddrive)

if you want to use ur DVD slot for your harddisk, you would need a caddy cage.
But since u want to keep your harddisk, also add an SSD inside your laptop, why don't you use mSATA M4 SSD instead?

an Caddy cage cost you RM50~ RM100 depend on quality and brand. a Crucial M4 128 SATA RM340, but mSATA Crucial M4 128G RM380, you can calculate the difference here.
Also DVD slot is a SATA 3Gb but not 6Gb.

btw, DVD drive will be given back to you smile.gif

Pertaining the Question of WINDOWS 8 READY WHITE COLOR Y580

We as lenovo gold partner long triple check and confirm with Lenovo official that there is no any White color available.

We also have Windows 8 Y580 stock now and it's Certified and believed that other sellers was misguided earlier therefore provided wrong info that Y580 is having a NEW white color edition.
