wow 2 days interview, which means the hotel accomodation and other expenses will be provided right?

I recently go for SITI interview in cyberjaya and the interview all is verbal presentation of your skills. The HR people didn't explain to you whats is the schedule of the interview since it was so long? Maybe you should try to contact them to get the detail.

All the best to your interview, and please update us the status. Thats interesting to know what is the interview going on for that 2 days rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Maybe because your travel is not so far thats why they are not giving you the allowances.

After the next day of the interview i already get the offer to be relocate to cyberjaya. Yippeee icon_rolleyes.gif
Sorry that i can't provide much information to you since we work in different field and my interview only last 3 hours.

The position you are applying sure is high rank since need to do presentation. Hope soon we may have chance to work together. nod.gif

QUOTE(lousai @ Jan 24 2008, 02:30 PM)
hi all:

Attended an interview on Tuesday, by 2 HR reps and 2 technical reps.

Process is lengthy 2.5 hours for a permanent position at Hosting-storage.

Hence, i still have few question after the session which i missed out to ask.

1. What the range for permanent staff as in IT (experiences 4-5 yrs)
2. The Petrol& Toll Allowances rm1000 will be terminated and converted to housing/car subsidy in 2009 ,
    Is that good?
3. Heard from this thread T-systems is going to take over, any idea when is it mid 2009 or 2010.?
4. When the dept/team outsource to vendor does permanent staff retain the same salary but diff benefits
5. For outstation ppl

sweat.....man

That all i have... rclxub.gif
*
1. Depend on how confident you are, I really regret to not put high enought as this company should able to pay more compare other, but i'm not dare to put too high as i really want to join Shell (After getting Shell then join Petronas should be no problem thumbup.gif, Petronas more rich)

2. House and Car allowance RM1000 sure is better compare to Loan. Impossible for us to get the same benefit amount from loan compare to allowance, benefit only if you make a huge loan (RM>500k bungalow, RM>200k car thumbup.gif , then u can save a lot of loan since company subsidy huge interest).

3. Outsource start on mid 2008

4. same salary diff benefit

5. Outstation really best, i travel from Penang and stay in Hotel PutraJaya Shangri-La + temporary transport (Honda Accord) for 3 weeks thumbup.gif , but if you got this Relocation benefit try stay Cyberview Lodge lor. The Shangri-La hotel is not very good (3 stars only), swiminng pool so small doh.gif .

QUOTE(tishaban @ Jan 29 2008, 03:37 PM)
Shell has been interesting so far. The benefits that Shell employees get that people don't usually talk about are:

- if a public holiday falls on Saturday, it's replaced by that Friday instead. 2007 was a bumper year with I think 4 public holidays falling on a Saturday which means 4 long weekends!

- personal development is very much emphasized. You can arrange with your boss to have half a day each week for online training. People can just do online training and get certified, all on company time and money, without getting bonded. It should be related to your job of course. If you're in the leadership track then you get even more attention.

- health & safety are emphasized significantly, to the point where if I stop at a zebra crossing and a car stops to let me pass, I'm 95% sure that the driver works in Shell biggrin.gif I'm happy to see that Malaysians can be as good as the Europeans safety wise when their work environment is conducive.

- many teams are truly global teams, there is a fair number of foreigners and a fair number of Malaysians going for short/long term assignments overseas as well. If you're good you'll get the chance to go somewhere.

However there are things I don't like as well...

- people are just not very competitive. They're too laid back, the side effect of being in a rich company.

- promotions are still somewhat age related, it seems as if you need to be a certain age before you can be promoted to a certain level. Sometimes this can be only in name eg. you can be just an analyst and still make RM15k per month or more.

Just my own gripes with Shell biggrin.gif
*
The major problem i don't like is:
1) Not much single young girl/FRESH girl. When intro all married sweat.gif
Seems i will need to go DELL walk around, there a lot call center lenglui? drool.gif
2) 90% communication is through email, office is very quiet (compare to DELL), rarely heard people shouting/cursing/debating in office phone
all work leisurely seems no stress also
- so no chance for me to learn the art of shouting/cursing/debating

what you mean by EP ? CTS UNIX or GLUX ?

CTS UNIX =  1st tier and

GLUX = 2nd and 3rd tier

CTS UNIX = under EDS

GLUX = under T-systems (Hail to the Germans )

p/s sorry to say but EDS is sucks ..
*
EP = Exploration
other like Downstream, Retail, etc...

Yes EDS always sucks but maybe now under HP will be better?

Good luck lar u all.
FYI the Graduate Scheme can get yearly increment of 25% average, Damn good and crazy!
Max can reach 34%.....

So if start basic salary RM 2600 and you work with normal performance no promotion
1st increment = 2600*1.25=3250
2st increment = 3250*1.25=4062.5
3st increment = 4062.5*1.25=5078.125

So after 3 years working in shell in graduate scheme you will normally over 5k....

After you have 3 years experience the increment will be back to normal market rate.

yup.. something like that... u will hear when u receive the offer letter..
good amount they giving for a new grad...
pay scale is depending on experience. they pay the same rate for all business area.
whether you are in exploration or downstream u will get the same rate as their scale is depending ur education level and
experience.
*
Ya really good increment for fresh graduate this year, i'm so surprise heard their increment raise higher than last time althought all company trying to cut cost due to recession. Just heard that because all the JG G people work together voice out to the HR, really well done they all due to the co-operation rclxms.gif

Ya Exploration\EP and Downstream should be the best department now, a lot people try to jump there.

Guys, don't speculate the salary range. It does not help with the expectations of any of these candidates.

well, shell might pay high, but definitely not the highest. This pay is certainly good only for fresh grad...as you progress to experience hire, you will find that shell has a lot of unwanted surprises.  sweat.gif

To tell you the truth, most Fresh Grad join in Grad scheme can easily get RM10k monthly with no problem, but sure you need to know how to talk/perform

Unless this fresh grad goes offshore regularly, I say he/she got problem if he/she book that many OT totalling up to RM10k per month, lol.
*
Office base also can easily reach 10k, but when reach 10k then you must be a team lead already, which only possible for fresh grad by age < 30

Can tell me what he/she does to earn that much up to RM10k at office onshore? First I heard of it since I have couple of friends (grads) there.

Unless he accept the job with minimum pay sweat.gif

QUOTE(sakura888 @ Sep 7 2011, 12:19 PM)
easily rm10K ? that is not true at all. the max a grad can get is rm4.5K, and for the relocation allowance, as i said it is depending on the person's situation where the person is from ( written in IC ). It is definately not applicable to all, unless you are going to the offshore basis. in Shell, there are a lot of "different companies", which different allocated job group. the one that everyone is shouting about is the company that is in upstream business. But not all graduate will be hired into upstream business  blush.gif

Added on September 7, 2011, 12:21 pm

grads are not entitle for any OT(as they are known as senior staff or executive roles), unless it is necessary and instructed by the supervisor to do, but i do believe such things are very seldom.

Added on September 7, 2011, 12:24 pm

a bit of contracdiction there. how can fresh grad be a team lead ? this is totally impossible, not just in shell but any big companies. and to be frank with you, your statement about team lead and rm10K is really depending on which "company" you are in, in shell. not all team lead gets rm10K  sweat.gif a lot get less...
*
I means fresh grab who join the grad scheme have high chance get good income.
I just assume 10k after few years they work in there, as i don have the valid data tongue.gif sorry if i give to high valuation on their pay
