it will be 2 days and 1 night.

u will have to reach the briefing day, spend the night at hotel (provided/supported), then next day is SRD, till evening or so u go back.

when is ur SRD?

anyways bout the SRD... does anyone know if its technical presentation or interview? I know if presentation we can maybe present our FYP... but what bout interview? This issue is important as this is y many% fail the SRD due to this part.
Anyone can advise for this?

who here is going for SRD this 14-16th April at Miri?

I just finished the SRD on 15th

I just got called, didn't make it but was good experience.
My advise was to open up ur mind and know lots of general knowledge.
Especially the emphasis of the CAPACITY, ACHIEVEMENT, RELATIONSHIP and TECHNICAL. { CAR(T) }
Out of all 3 (Case Study, Group Exercise, Technical Interview):-

Case Study is the toughest as the give u 30 page document bout Shell Aduki and highlight the issues in 1.5 hours. Time was actually not enough. U r assume role of a Business Analysis. Later ur supposed to highlight issues that u have found from the reading as many as possible covering many areas (ex. environmental, safety and health, community, financial, management, technology, developments, etc) to the assessors for 5min. Then later u are to discuss with the assessors for 20min 3 issues u would prefer to discuss further bout the short, medium and long term solutions. C,A, and R is being judged here.

Group Discussion to me was easiest but still cannot look down on this. I assume a role a representative leader of a certain society where the community gave us 4 requests of projects needed funding from Shell Aduki. Reading was 5min. Then I will be partnered with another guy who read the same material as me and we became the mini group and begin to discuss which 2 out of 4 we should pic for funding from Shell. 10min and an Assessor will be watching you. Then later I will be joined with the other participants (4 of them so all together 6 people). Discussion was 30 min or so and assessors will just be watching you. The other mini groups also did chose their best 2 out of 4 project needed funding But their projects not the same as our mini group, so altogether mini group (2 people) X 3. But each mini group need tochose 2 so when discussed there are altogether 6 projects that needed funding. Our goal is to have the 'meeting' and discuss which one needed funding from Shell Aduki. After the 'meeting' , 'journalist' (the assessors) will ask you questions regarding the choosing of the best one and about the meeting. A and R is assessed here. Try not to be quiet here and don't be affraid to voice out ur opinions.

Technical Interview was OK as some people who passed SRD said its like bonus marks to score but I don't believe so.
Here we are to make presentation of our project (ex. FYP) or recent work that can best show our CAR(T) criteria to assessors for 15 min. Then for 20 min Assessors will be asking questions relevant to the CAR(T) criteria of ur project/work. advise here try focus the criteria they want and try to make ur technical presentation as technical as possible as if ur a professional engineer with engineer mindset.


When called bout the results of SRD, the will tell u how u did during the 3 exercise. Case study I did poorly cause I only manage to highlight few issues not covering issues related to financial situation of Shell Aduki and the management of Shell Aduki. Group Discussion I did well cause I manage to think the situation not for individuality approach but with group approach and manage to highlight good point not only on my own selected project but on others too. Technical Interview I was very enthusiastic and achieve a lot of thing in my project but may lack relationship and technical side to it.
