Hi, i got an email saying this:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I guess it is the first interview. Is SRD the second? Is there any other interviews after that? i realized that certain topics will be given for us to explain but i'm not sure whether it is in the first or second interview. From the previous pages I noticed that the second interview is very long. What do they ask till that long?

Thanks  smile.gif

that should be your 1st interview, if u apply through the website.

1st interview is short questions. see how good can you talk and make sense...

2nd interview is whole day. you r not accessed one whole day, it will be divided into a number of section and you r not alone, that is why it took the whole day.

cheers

Vista on an old laptop is painful my friend. Stability is not an issue, it's performance that's lacking. Heck even people with dual core laptops and 2GB memory sometimes have issues that I can't decipher. I don't see why you're looking forward to using it biggrin.gif I wish they'd just stuck with XP sometimes. Oh ETA sometime in 2009.

silverwave, in my experience at least they want to see how you analyze the situation/topic given. Think global was one advice that was given to me. If you're given a situation to analyze you'd want to think from your point of view, the company's, the customer, the general public, the media, your supporters, your detractors, etc.

The interview was hard but I thoroughly enjoyed it biggrin.gif

haha.. actually not very looking towards it. Just preparing myself for the worst... sometime this big company is rather strange le.. oh well..

Usually how long do they take to get back to you after you submitted your application?
*
For those who is wondering how long for you to get a response. It may vary and there is no specific time frame for them to reply, It can be fast or slow. This HR people is human also, open to flaw like each of us here too. If everything is ok, they will contact you eventually or just push them like BRC mentioned.

East Malaysia also have commercial position smile.gif

BRC, you are based where?

i really need help here. Will the SRD be held in miri or at the shell house? If it is at miri, will they be paying for my air tickets? When will the SRD be? Greatly appreciated if anyone can help me out. Thanks!
*
As far as I know, all SRD is based in Miri. upstream, downstream, GS... all was done in House 100 in Piasau camp, Miri.

Ticket will be paid by yourself in advance and reimbursed by Shell after the SRD, regardless you pass or not.

SRD date is something of a mystery.

BTW, BRC

I'm from downstream based in Kuching.

Lets sum up how the heck you can get into the Shell world..

1. Study your a$$ out and get CGPA more than 3.0 (and gain experience dude, you'll need it. Discovery channel and Nat geo is a good start)
2. Go to www.shell.com/careers
3. Click on Join as graduates and submit your resume and pray hard.... harder
4. Some dude/gal from Shell HR sent you email or call you.
5. You will be given two choices, face to face interview or phone interview. (Can say this is interview Stage 0)
6. You manage to passed Interview Stage 0 and invited to SRD. (Wooo hoooo... still one big task ahead)
7. You go to the SRD which is divided into three section (Interview Stage 1). Nothing much we can help you on this one... if you got the stuff, you are in. best of luck..
8. Sometime after that... you receive this email from some dude/gal stating you pass or fail...
9. Let say you pass. Some HR dude/gal contact you and proceed to give you further details.
10. Medical check, no drugs abuse.. sure pass..
11. And suddenly you find yourself staying in 4 star hotel for 3 weeks and provided with a car.... ( may vary) tongue.gif
12. and suddenly you noticed everyone smiling at you.. and what do you know.. you just enter Shell world... now get to work...

13. Then you can buy Lancer Evo...
14. Then can buy house
15. Then can buy i7
16. Then can buy _______ thumbup.gif

Cheers tongue.gif

a piece of advice to those taking the SRD. Slow respond is something to expect, chase them if necessary. After all our HR is still human, so give them a break.
