QUOTE(shaquenator @ Nov 21 2011, 07:07 PM) relocation allowance are REALLY gone for new hires. Only existing staff gets it. Nope.Still there.Changed the name, the duration and quantum only.and for existing staff, the relocation also cut quite a lot i heard, around almost 50% I guess a lot of things are starting to "dried up". So, now their package are almost on-par with some of the best pay master from other indsutry... |

No such things as ECS in Shell House. Its Miri based for Hook-Up and Commissioning (HUC). Normal to be employed by Sapura Crest since Sarku, a Sapura sub, has been awarded with the Engr and Construction contract by Shell.

QUOTE(Alvin The Chipmunk @ Aug 1 2012, 08:32 PM) Outspoken doesn't mean you are better than others, you might be talking rubbish in 9 out of 10 sentences. He probably flunked the CEP, hence no value to be hired, where else the "oh-my-english" and awkward candidate probably got higher CEP..People with poor command of English doesn't mean they aren't good enough, they might pin to the right point with just a simple, short and lousy English sentence. |

There was, not sure about now, an agreement between Shell and Sarawak & Sabah state govs to give priority hiring to local Borneo. Nothing malicious, its just to safeguard the local interest and uprate their so-called socio-economic status.
However, if there is no/lack of capable people from Borneo, then West Malaysian candidates would be looked at. Only if you are good enough then only you'll get picked up. Others, sorry, nothing special about you. At least I could say I am much better than you since I am from KL and used to work for Shell in Miri for 5 years + This post has been edited by depster666: Aug 3 2012, 02:49 PM |
