calling won't harm anyone
jus call to refresh your status in their memory
then they will push it

i have many friends who did it
and got response fast

as some wait till a year before they get the call
so pushing is useful to a certain extent

QUOTE(ssskom @ Nov 18 2009, 09:21 PM)
Ive passed the 1st interview too...and last Tuesday I received an email saying that a recruiter will contact me to schedule the SRD...but so far I haven't heard from them yet...would it be possible that they'll not contact me due to the company's restructuring?

I have a job offer with another company that starts on Dec 1st. I will be going there while waiting for Shell to contact me (which Im not putting too much hope in after reading this thread  sad.gif )

If they do call after December, I hope I can get a day off there...just wondering if anyone knows whether they do the SRD on Saturdays or weekends? Im assuming not since its a group thingy...and the HR wouldnt want to work on weekends too..any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
*
They only do SRD on weekdays.
Its only 2 days anyway.

interviewed on Oct 28th and got a reply on Nov 10th saying that a recruiter will contact me soon to set up an appointment date for the SRD...but until now I still haven't received a call from them...sigh  sad.gif ....

should I call them just in case if some 'unexpected' things happened that they forgot to call back?
*
Please call them to enquire on the status.
It helps.

Usually applications get too many and unless you buzz them, they wont get to you till much much later.

English is important
But u still can find some who aren't really well versed in english...

Anyway your phone interview or 1st interview (before SRD) is suppose to filter that.
They need people who can express themselve in a proper and clear manner.

you'll be circulated amongs platforms and different discipline to get you up to speed with things...
an aggresive approach to training an OE (Ops Eng)
but trust me, it is a good place to start your career....

hhchai2 :

there are 2 kind of rejects...
1 is fail... (if this, there's X amount of years you'll have to wait before applying. I'm not sure of the number)
1 is KIV... chances are high

lin00b :

PM me when you're about to come.
Grad network is huge, so rest assured you'll be fine.

As toughnut said, don't embarrass yourself before doing your own research. Many of the posters here work/worked for Shell, myself included and what you stated is just exaggerated.

Agreed
And they don't send you to Dutch Universities.

Btw, the capped amount for Medical is still more than enough.
So it's still good.

Courses depends on which department you're in.
And of course the economic situation.

No bonds = True

The SRD on 25/8? oh, I'm so disappointed!  cry.gif

Need  better preparation & luck next time then.

Thanks for the info!

SRD is held every week.
No such thing as, if they have an SRD after yours, you've failed.
No replies? Call them, mail them.

Nobody will bite you or think that you're over persistent.
HR are the last ppl you'll see after joining the company.

You only see them when u start and when you leave.
otherwise its just a phone number

have anyone come across with the job title "territory manager/executive" in Shell where basically they have to care all the petrol station under his territoty?
*
yes...
the "manager" word is just a title...
doesn't actually reflect true position in the company

RM900 a month, which is considered one of the highest, and it's fckuing hard to get one, unless you got cables, I mean thick cables to pull you in.
*
thick cables.... cant comment on that

but if u get an internship with Upstream...
u can almost smell the grad offer as it is one of the ways to join as a shell grad...
if u get the internship, make sure you perform
