Congrats on Heidfield obtaining 3rd placing. It was an amazing lap time that put the BMW Sauber team in the top 3 together with Kubica who drove well gaining 7th place.

I have always looked up on Quick Nick. If he were to drive in a better car, i very much believe he can have a shot at the championship
*
He has always been a consistent driver and has proven himself a couple of times this season by clinching a few pts of this season.

Looking forward to seeing him in the top grid tomorrow and how well he fence himself against the 2 sharks that is lurking behind him (Massa and Alonso) biggrin.gif

Yea, for a rookie driver, nobody would expect Robert Kubica to standout ... And Kubica has definitely proven them wrong, his driving style is pretty calm as he manage to hold off Massa at the start of the race and at the same time clinching opportunity everytime he is able to. A great driver indeed

Poor Heidfield. Impressive driving shown and yet Sato put an end to it all at the last lap. Pretty amazed at his driving and sustaining both Barrichello and Button behind him.

But i guess the Honda management team was pretty funny as there was no command to let Button pass Barrichello, and ordered them to duel it out. I guess they must want to have a look at who is better between both of them as both of them was pretty on par the whole season.

Takumi Sato is a reckless driver.. That for sure... Act as if he is Fujiwara Takumi but end up.. a stupid driver who dunno when to give up places when his car is slow.. Should have penalty him by fining him.. No wonder Bar Honda drop him at the first place.

If only Japan bring in Fujiwara Takumi. hahah. Watch too much Initial D ady..

I wonder if Takumi can handle the G-Force on an F1 car. He only drive road cars and i am pretty damn sure that he will not be able to even lift his head up when driving a F1 car tongue.gif

Yea, Sato was a pretty reckless driver. What he did in Shanghai is unforgivable after what he did to Heidfield.

Btw, there is another japanese driver called Yamamoto right?!

Whoa.. u BMW fans are real crazy, even have a video of Heidfield overtaking Alonso..

Anyway, its good to see that BMW is not falling behind and Heidfield has shown some promising feats last season. Just hope that he will continue to be calm and continue to struggle to improve his standings.

Alonso probably got too confident with his skills that cause him the loss.. still no doubt, Heidfield is good in a sense..

BMW resolve gearbox trouble

QUOTE
BMW have solved a mechanical problem which hampered the team's pace through pre-season testing and the opening races of the season.

The Hinwil-based squad have emerged as strong contenders this season and current lie third in the world championship behind only Ferrari and McLaren.

Team principal Mario Theissen told the Swiss newspaper Blick that the hydraulic fault in the F1.07's seamless gearbox has been resolved.

"It is fixed," said the German and revealed that the problem emanated from a materials defect from an external supplier

Hopefully this will improve the chances for BMW Sauber. I wanna see more Heidfield and Kubica in action. More competition, more tense it will be!

BMW sign new DuPont deal

QUOTE
DuPont de Nemours is extending its partnership with the BMW Sauber F1 Team and will be supporting the team as an Official Supplier with immediate effect.

DuPont became a Promotional Partner of the team in May 2006, since when it has worked in close collaboration with the BMW Sauber F1 Team on research and development.

BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen
"We are delighted with this extended involvement and with the research exchange we have enjoyed so far with DuPont. We will continue to steadily develop our strategic partnership."

Ian Hudson, President DuPont Europe, Middle East and Africa
"Through innovation and science, DuPont helps the BMW Sauber F1 Team keep their drivers and team safer, as well as increase the cars' looks and performance.
Highly visible applications - such as fire-resistant suits made out of DuPont Nomex, or high-performance coatings and paints - and many other DuPont materials and applications used throughout the car demonstrate DuPont's position as a strong partner to the automotive industry. We are looking forward to extending our cooperation with the BMW Sauber F1 Team on many fronts in the future."

Talking bout Heidfield there is an article on this young lad

Heidfield a "Midfield" driver
QUOTE
Apr.25 (GMM) Toyota's team president John Howett has dealt a knockout blow to rumours that Nick Heidfeld could be shaping up to join the Japanese squad next year.

To the German magazine Sport Bild, the Briton said that he considers 29-year-old Heidfeld to belong only to formula one's "upper midfield".

Howett also denied contact with Heidfeld's manager Werner Heinz, and - music to the embattled Ralf Schumacher's ears - insisted that replacing either Schumacher or Jarno Trulli would "not improve" the Toyota lineup.

It is believed that Howett also argued strongly against Toyota signing Heidfeld at the end of 2004, when the Japanese squad moved to tab Schumacher following his five year stint at Williams.

Heidfeld bemoans lost podium

QUOTE
Nick Heidfeld believes that BMW's botched pit-stop cost him a podium finish at the Spanish GP.

The German's race was wrecked when a wheel-nut worked itself loose at his first pit-stop. It was immediately picked up by an observant member of the Toyota crew but Heidfeld had already begun trundling down the pitlane and was then forced to crawl around the entire circuit before returning to the pits. To add insult to injury, another mechanical glitch then caused him to retire on lap 46.

"In the end it was most likely a gearbox problem that stopped me, but unfortunately my race was over much earlier after the problem during my first pit stop," rued Heidfeld.

"For some reason the front right wheel was loose, we have to look at it how this happened. For the first 24 laps until this stop it looked superb for me. I drove a long first stint and my second stint would also have been a long one. On top of this Alonso was not very quick on the harder tyres in his second stint. I believe I had the chance to finish on the podium today."

One problem after one befalls Heidfield, real unfortunate for him... so sad cry.gif

I think Robert will definitely be out the next race, just imagine the concussion he have suffered in that crash.. i mean travelling at almost 80 miles an hour and doing a flip flop like that, even with further checks and a broken leg, he will at least be out for a race or two.

For now, just be glad that he is alright. Whether or not he will be back, lets give him enough rest for now.

Kubica to leave hospital

QUOTE
Jun.10 (GMM) The latest news from Montreal is that Robert Kubica will leave a downtown hospital on Monday -- with no broken bones.

Contrary to earlier reports that said the 22-year-old Pole had broken a leg in his horror 280kph crash in the Canadian grand prix, BMW-Sauber team boss Mario Theissen confirmed that Kubica is actually fully intact. The worst injury is reported to be a sprained ankle.

He told Sport-Informations-Dienst that suspicions of a broken leg were not confirmed after thorough checks at the Sacre-Coeur hospital.

"I am really very relieved," Theissen said, although it must be a possibility that Kubica - who was knocked unconscious in the incident - will be replaced by either test driver Sebastian Vettel or Timo Glock for the upcoming US GP this weekend.

Ferrari's Felipe Massa said: "I am happy that he was not seriously injured -- it is almost a miracle."

That huge accident and just a sprained ankle?!
The F1 car is something to talk about here.

Good news, all your wishes have finally made it happen!

Kubica given 'all clear'

QUOTE
Jun.12 (GMM) Robert Kubica, wearing casual clothes are barely sporting even a limp, checked out of a Montreal hospital on Monday and vowed to be fit for Sunday's US grand prix at Indianapolis before driving away in a BMW road car.

A spokesman for his team said: "The doctors here have given him the all-clear to race."

The mandatory 'black box' aboard his destroyed single seater, however, showed a 28g impact at nearly 90 degrees, and Kubica's mild concussion means that Sebastian Vettel or Timo Glock could still be called up to take his place.

And "the peak value (of the impact) would be clearly higher than 28g, given the damage to the chassis", a BMW engineer added.

"In my day, if you had a crash like that, you would be dead, no doubt about it," Niki Lauda, who nearly died in a similar head-on crash back in 1976, said.

22-year-old Kubica must on Thursday complete a 25-minute examination by the FIA's doctors, where his reaction time, co-ordination and mental capacities will be compared with a 'control' test that all drivers undergo each season.

He said in a press huddle outside the Sacre-Coeur hospital: "I'm in quite good shape and I'm hoping (to be) going to Indianapolis if the doctors say it is ok.

"Mario Theissen and other team members came to visit me and also thanks to Jarno Trulli who came as well."

Poland's Kubica said he had not yet decided if he wanted to watch replays of the crash.

"I saw it when I was in the car," he said with a slight smile.

Well, who knows but i am looking forward to a good race for the BMW team. They have been improving and Heidfield has shown that he is capable of toppling even the best team in F1 history.

Heidfield is very fast in the qualifying but not fast enough to get into the top 4 grid. I think his time to Raikkonen is just along the hundred of a second....

Maybe he can show us something different tomorrow eh.

Most probably Kubica will be back in the race.
Vettel still lacks experience like what have been in the Indy GP.
