frankly, i don't see how the spying scandal helps BMW. whether or not McLaren are found guilty, BMW are still in the 'reserved' no.3 spot, now that they are no.2, my hopes that unless Alonso, Hamilton, Massa and Kimi crashed out all the way to the end, BMW still have a shot to the WCC trophy. and they must clinch the 1-2 spot in order to make tht happen.

QUOTE(transcities @ Oct 6 2007, 03:24 PM) hoping also they can score >100 at the end this season. Added on October 7, 2007, 4:19 pmHeidfeld P7 Kubica DNF Total points for the Sauber BMW now (after Shanghai GP): 94 points 6 points more to go for 100 marks. we could have achieve the 100 mark yesterday. but seems like technical problems caused robert to retire from race. he could at least finish top 5. on side note, after vettel's superb performance yesterday, i couldn't stop thinking how many good drivers that came out from sauber.

i dun think so, i think it's massa a few years back before he joined ferrari.
^raikonnen, i think it's wise for vettel to race for STR, there he manage to show everyone what is he capable of. remember his maiden race was when replacing robert after he crashed. he managed to clinch his first points there. if he didn't left, he would still be a 3rd choice driver at BMW hoping to replace someone to drive.

2nd or 3rd, BMW did an amazing job. being a junior team on their own, they did massive improvements since last year.

but i hope they did improve on wet races. after all the data accumulated at japan and china last season. i won't deny this, but they really suck at this two races last year.

juz 5 points behind constructors, anyways still too early to tell. last season it was too a 3 horse race until about the start of the mid season then BMW start to drift away from the 2 leaders. keep it up in scoring points, BMW can be serious contenders this time round.

gotta agree with u that nick looks much better without his beard. maybe he wants to have a more father matured look.

what is important now is that, i hope nick can quickly bounce back from his slump and continue to fight for points for the team. this weekend's results certainly did boost his morale and confidence. on a side note, last season the BMW are kinda struggling to score a magic 100 until the last season, this season, after 7 races they scored bout 70 points. thats a great milestone achieved by them.

as a fan of nick heidfeld, it would be bad seeing him not driving for BMW in the future. but on the other hand, it would be nice to see a double world champ to drive in one of these. i am really interested to see how he can squeeze the most out of the F1.09.

vettel is a good choice, but not for sometime now. probably 1 or 2 more years he might even go to the big teams. just like kimi. however, i personally think that alonso is the only one right now who can make full use of the BMW car and give those ferrari and mclaren a run for their money.

its kinda different last season, alonso had his own setup of the car, however, the information was shared with lewis. at the same time, lewis was performing competitively with alonso, given the same situation, i dun think i will like my team mate as well. nick on the other hand, he has his own driving style which requires his own setup of the car, so even if fernando paired up with nick, i dun think it will be a problem like last year.

unless dr. mario decides to keep nick next season, yea i gotta agree, nick most likely already lost the spot. but who will be the replacement is another question, i still think alonso is the best candidate to fill the spot.

QUOTE(BlueWind @ Sep 29 2008, 12:17 AM) Anyone happy with BMW's result? 50-50 if u asked me. officially BMW has been f***ed by the pit lane rules fully this year. first it was nick which caused him points and now robert. both drivers performed decently last nite. nick managed to go up to 6th although started from 9th, robert, well he was screwed by the stupid rule or else he could have been on the podium. anyways, still picking up points for the team is the most crucial thing.

yea good job to robert and nick as well. on a side note, BMW is the only team which manage to score points in every stage of the season up till now.
