change the thomson router. im using unifi's d-link router, works perfectly in gaming.

High ping issues is the Thomson router problem. Don't know how many times need to repeat this.

The Thomson router are known for its crap latency/ping issues. Changing it will definitely provide you a better gaming experience but don't know to what extend you are expecting from it.

I played 5 different online games everyday but don't have any issues for latency/ping after changing the router.


My both house currently have UniFi VIP 20 and Maxis 10MB respectively which I don't see a difference in gaming at all.

In fact I'm more dissatisfied with UniFi than Maxis. It has this problem of 'disconnecting' players if more than 3 people are playing the same game. Maxis doesn't.

Yes I do but not much. I still prefer Dota 1 in G@rena somehow. Less stress. But still for Dota 2, I didnt experience any delay issues often. Only sometimes.

I'm not so good with network field but I do have a family member that is actually an expert at this field. Yes I been told by him that Maxis routing is pure crap which is exactly like what you said. But still somehow I didn't get any lags from my game. Currently im playing 2 games from SEA and 1 from international server. For the international server, im getting less than 90 ping from all the players. Either way it doesn't matter to me how big they route around the world as long as it works fine on my gaming.
