Well yeah, I used my mobile internet to post here during downtime. So it's still possible for us to post / reply here, just not as instantaneous.
Yup. Called them and put on hold for almost 15 minutes, somebody picked up the call, on hold for another 10 minutes again.

The problem is tho, my PUBLIC ip got reverted (accidentally or intentionally) to PRIVATE (home) ip during this process. Lazy to call them up and fix. Sigh.

Anyway, information requested by others (area) when I faced the downtime was

Area: Bukit Jalil
Type: Public IP
Internet: Excellent but everyday will face the problem "DNS SERVER UNREACHABLE" - either restart the router entirely; or manually "Disconnect" and "Connect" to solve. Very annoying! Anyone else facing this issue as well?

update:
yesterday called them and what they asked me to do is unplug lan cable at LAN 2 port, plug at LAN 1 port and replug back at LAN 2 port. Not working. Then they asked me to call back and they will arrange a technician to call me back but guess what? They never call me back. Damn.

Btw, I noticed something. The ONU do not have any problem but everytime I turned off the Thompson RG/router, I can connect to internet but after like 1 minute or so, the connection is lost. and when that happens, both Phone 1 & Phone 2 lights are ON. FYI, I am not connecting my dect phone to the router.

Anyone have encounter this problem?

Check out TIME home fiber, 100Mbps for RM179. If your area is under coverage,should consider this.

Then someone else will get ur IP and face the problem... happened to me few times, so, disconnect then reconnect until got a good IP.

hey guys...did any1 speed drop until around 5mb??

lately i always get 5mbps on speed test.

i sign up the 118 package..quite stable for last month den sud october things gone crazy..dam freaking slow sometime

3mb 4 mb 5mb all kind of result...zzzz

ping can go up to 500ms

If you not tight budget, my advice is don't go for Maxis. Not worth for the hassle.
I thought my Maxis fibre finally settle down and should be happy with it after so many issue popping up in a month, this is my second month... new problem still showing up. Now i'm with 799vn with no disconnection since day one 24/7 operation.

One more thing, my torrent and p2p start being throttled download. Different is 80% slower than first month. I seldom torrent and p2p but i do need it once a month or twice.

Source for testing - Highest Seed and on top speed condition on speedtest with cable and 3 days continuously test.

P2P now is worst than my old 1mb streamyx.

how you guys manage to request router replacement to new model?

i know but it took me one hour to explain to guy that.. he insisted that i troubleshoot the samething again and again and again..... anyway of getting a better router?? can ask for the tg799n??

Quick question. I had been using the FTTH for 4 months now. THe line shared by me and my brother. (me ethernet and him wireless). But sometimes i notice under devices connected to wlan, other than my bro's laptop there are a few "unknown" devices. Apa tu? Its normally labelled as Unknown-70-a3-95-ac-3g-45 etc...

but its already on WPA+WPA2.........
