A lil update for those on COD:MW3 PS3.

I'm on public ip. Been getting NAT Type 2 on the PS3 connection status but on MW3 still Strict.

Just disabled the UPnP option and did a simple port forwarding by portforward.com, Im back to NAT Type: OPEN now!

Cheers

Anyone here having any issues with their routers? I came back today and found that when 1 of my devices (smartphone) is connected to wireless, the router is unable to provide an IP address to my laptop, which is connected via LAN cable. I changed my laptop to wireless while still having the phone connected, it connected but still without any IP.

I turned off WiFi on the phone and connected my laptop to WiFi and it works like a charm but then, I decided to turn WiFi on my phone again, the laptop starts to disconnect. It's an either or situation. I dunno what could have caused this. Yesterday, it was all good.

Troubleshooting I did:
ipconfig /renew @ /release
netsh int ipv4 @ ipv6 reset
Restarted DHCP client through msconfig
and so many more until I can't remember...
I even checked my Event Viewer and found that it was showing error 0x79 on the DHCP client... Googled and still can't solve it... In the end, I just tried disconnecting one and connecting the other and it's smooth sailing from there...

tl;dr version:

Connect 1, the other can't get IP address. icon_question.gif

There was a few second power shortage in my housing area and after that i have the same prob as you. Can't get IP address on any of my devices. Stucked at "Obtaining Ip Address". I cant even connect into the modem's config page.

I cant connect to internet since yesterday evening. Previously always dc but still can connect. All lights are on (green) but still can't connect to internet. Asked Maxis Tech Support and she informed that alot of customers are facing this issue.

10Mbps and only 1month plus subscribing. sad.gif

Btw, I'm staying in Subang. Anyone have the solution????

I did a hard reset on the Thompson (Yea, press the reset button) and I'm able to connect now but once i tried connecting other devices, its stuck again.

Right now i'm just connecting to my laptop and lets see how long it goes.

update:
after many calls to their call center, just gave up on their typical responses. last time a maxis technician gave his number and asked me to call him if there was an issue. so i called him and he asked me to hard reset the thomson (use something sharp to poke the hole between the 2 usb ports).
then wait for it to restart, connect to the wireless (the new SSID and password will be defaulted as per the label at the bottom of the router). u can also connect using a cable. but i connected using wireless immediately after the hard reset and ran the wizard over a wireless connection and it completed successfully.

go to the main thomson page and run the configuration wizard. it's quite simple as the values are already stored in the text boxes, just click next all the way through. for the password, it's the username + the digit '1'.
once it's configured, then u may change the ssid and wifi password to one of your choices.
phone wasn't working now (got engaged tone). called the call center and she said the password for the voip phone is your phone number + the digit '1'. after registered the phone, it was working.

hope this helps. but i'm worried theproblem might happen again. sweat.gif  this thomson junk has way too many problems.

Yep still holding up without dc or anything.

HARD RESET guys, insert the pin into the reset hole and wait till the lights go off. Not restart from the page.

After reset, reconfigure using the wizard.
