Call to Maxis Home Customer Service (prepare to wait >15 mins on hold) to ask why you are set to the wrong port speed.

Hi, just want to know, why is my download speed always slower than my upload? My upload speed is 16MB and my download speed is 5MB. Can anyone help? This is not my first time but i have seen this speed change quite many times edi. Thanks
*
Possibly Maxis/TM mis-capped your bandwidth... call them to check and get Case ID as reference.

will there be any difference? im subscribed to their 6mb anywhere
*
Ooohhhh... since you are on 6Mbps package (I thought you on 10Mbps package sweat.gif ), it should be ok.
Upload speed is higher because Maxis didn't capped it.... good for seeders.

These few days.... connecting to Maxis on Thomson router startup seem difficult to get connected. Maybe too many Public IP address assigned.

Hi guys, it seems like user on public IP have more dc problems than users on private IP.

The default installation is public or private IP?
What's the advantage of having public IP?
Which one should i use? I am not a gamer but a heavy downloader and use internet for live football match streaming.
*
Default is Private IP range
Public IP allows better torrenting experience and CCTV connection
I suggest Private IP

QUOTE(swimming @ Aug 25 2012, 05:25 AM)
my router restarts itself also after retrying connecting couple times without success (during PPP no reply issue).
however it does not restart when connection stable or during intermittent dc, i wonder why... a feature???

Added on August 25, 2012, 5:53 am

this down time can last for 15min to few hours, it seems getting more frequent and worrying...

during the problem, VOIP working but internet down, connect status always Retrying, router may restart itself after a while (btw i try connecting every 3 minutes), if i tried wrong password/username, will get PPP fail reply; no PPP reply if correct password.

when i report the issue, maxis said some public ip users affected and advise was to restart modem and router then just wait. but this does not reduce the down time and seems like maxis cant do anything about it. i requested 2 login for both public and private ip, maxis said cannot; switching private/public ip will still take times within 24hr.
*
My Thomson also self-reboot after I retry Connect via webpage many times... this difficulty in connection happens more often at night. This morning, boot up the Thomson + BTU no issues getting connected.

I've request to switch back to Private IP to check if this problem ("PPP PAP Authenticate Request sent") is "reduced" or not.

bro Ronnie, maybe you can post on 1st page to clarify the the speed issue

By using Download Manager utility tool you will get full speed 1.2MBps from certain sites while those not using Download Manager (from certain sites) to avoid confusion.
*
Why would we not use FREE Download Managers ?
Main objective of downloading : Download as fast as possible with the right tool. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

Don't expect Schumacher to perform when driving a Myvi, compared to a Mercedes brows.gif brows.gif

TM Engineers = Malay majority
Maxis Engineers = Indian majority

Make your own conclusion for those who work with them (now or previously)

So I need to go to the dealer to get my registration form number and call Maxis?

P1 or Maxis?
*
Just try P1 since it's cheaper with 30-day money back.

P1 uses the 30-day Money Back very effective... my colleague fell for it during their POTONG promo.
During the the 30-day period, you get EXCELLENT speed/experience.
Then after 30-day, true color of P1 bad service will surface. BEWARE !!!

nothing to do with race... it has to do with the tunjuk pandai attitude... for example, why u place a cache processing for web browsing(causing the web browsing to be slower than streamyx 512kbps)? trying to be genius or hero? that is called super stupid sohai wanting to be hero tahi kuching!

that is the source of all the problems we are facing now! some idiots engineers(whatever race u r i dun care, ang moh or olang i oso fcuk u!) trying to be clever, fcuk up!

Indian like to beat-around-the-bush ... that's why our ping hops is 8-9 within Maxis.
