Hi Guys, my Unifi contract is expired and am planning to make the switch to Maxis Home Fibre as i don't use Unifi's IPTV, so there some cost savings.
I have browsed thru the thread and noticed generally there's a consensus that Maxis isn't good for online gaming, but most of those post were a few months back and there was mention that Maxis was going to fix online gaming stability and lower pings. Has the gaming situation improved? Also if anyone already on Maxis FTTH could be so kind to please run a ping test on ip 87.237.38.200 and post the results here for me, its the server for the EVE Online MMO which servers based in UK. Thanks guys! |

Pinging 87.237.38.200 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 87.237.38.200: bytes=32 time=328ms TTL=236 Reply from 87.237.38.200: bytes=32 time=315ms TTL=236 Reply from 87.237.38.200: bytes=32 time=314ms TTL=236 Reply from 87.237.38.200: bytes=32 time=328ms TTL=236 Ping statistics for 87.237.38.200: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 314ms, Maximum = 328ms, Average = 321ms I doubt it will be playable with that ping. I would recommend you to stick with Unifi if you wanna continue online gaming. Dota 2 is fine though, 100-120 ms but totally the same when I played with 20-30ms Streamyx. |

Guys, any of you here using tg784v3 router? Maxis went a level up and even disabled configuring DNS via telnet.
Please support me in complaining to maxis here https://forum.maxis.com.my/forum_topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6740 Btw for those using this router, your only choice is to to configure custom dns on ipv6! Not ipv4 Just use the following open dns ipv6 http://www.opendns.com/ipv6/ Cheers |

Hi guys, I'm currently using TM's Unifi VIP20 Package @ RM249/month.
I'm currently looking to switch to Maxis' Home Fibre Internet 30 Mbps @ RM248/month. With this, I get a 10Mbps speed increase at the same monthly price. Do note, my Unifi contract of 24-months has ended already. My question is that, are we allowed to torrent/P2P via Maxis' Home Fibre Internet on uTorrent? Btw, I get my torrents from TPB. Best if users having experienced this provide feedback. Thanks, your replies are most appreciated. |
