The story revolves around Mahiro Fuwa, a teenager whose family was mysteriously murdered one year before and his friend Yoshino Takigawa. Mahiro is contacted by Hakase Kusaribe, the leader of the Kusaribe clan who was left stranded on an unknown desert island by her followers, and agrees to help Hakase in exchange of her help to find out the culprit for the death of his family. Upon learining of his friend's intentions, Yoshino joins him on his quest to stand against the Kusaribe clan who intends to awake the "Tree of Zetsuen" whose power can bring ruin to the entire world.

Several dialogues and plot elements in Zetsuen no Tempest pay homage to the works of William Shakespeare.

The manga is written by Shirodaira Kyou, the author for Spiral - Suiri no Kizuna, although not same artist.... me must watch

i'm guessing this has shounen ai. and is similar to No.6 from the William Shakespeare.

Plot seems interesting...

i don't think this got shounen-ai, unless trusting each other considered one?

prepare for plot twists, but still haven't reach spiral level yet for its twistedness (based on latest manga chapter)

It has great screenplay for a weak source material with nice cuts and bits, this is one of the few anime that I would recommend over the original manga.

i certainly don't rate it "great screenplay" despite it had weak source material. its just OK to me because i rate it for what it is. see, i don't have a comparative basis while you apparently do.

This anime have a horrible story, retarded if I may say.
But screenplay has nothing to do with it, and as far as I concern, this anime nailed it. At least in its first ep.

Well timed cut and exposition, very technical that makes a great episode structure as a whole.
That what I see, and to be honest the ntr and the plot makes me wants to drop this shit if not for its great directing.

I hope Okada doesn't screw this up, she is well know for 'the journey matters more than the destination'.

I just saw good animation, and Nana Mizuki getting kicked in the face. Music is not bad, no idea what the plot is about. Miyuki Sawashiro as a stranded mage is pretty cool, too. I can't trust Bones to maintain high quality animation, but eh, I like where it's going.

obviously im not even talking about the plot (or story) because judging plot on ep 1 is just... well yeah.

anyways, giving credit on screen play because of... as per your quote "timed cut and exposition", is kinda saying michael bay films blowing shit up everywhere has great screenplay/script writing and to me, that's just bullshit.

but hey, there are people who think otherwise, and his films did won a lot of awards and made huge monies, and i've watched them too (despite of what i think) on cinemas, digital 2d overpriced tickets no less.
so to each his own i suppose.
