Comrades, I've got a few problems with my car, which the SC said are common among K5s, do you have such problems?

1) the lumbar support mechanism has free play, meaning when I accelerate and decelerate, i can feel and hear a "cluck" sound from the seat, SC said it's common. My lumbar support is just lightly adjusted, around 10-20% from the off position.
2) the rear view mirror has poor quality plastics, it makes cracking noise when you squeeze it lightly or when the interior is cooling down from the hot sun. SC said it is common.
3) and off course there're the funny noises from all over the cabin

SC told me it's normal, just accept it. I disagree loh, this is not Proton, so I hope they don't treat their customers the Proton way. Btw, i'm not being overly fussy, ironically, the Rondo that they loaned me for two weeks didn't have all these annoying noises.

I'm planning to escalate my complaints and ensure that these problems are rectified.

huh? just because u put tint toyota does not warranty? its common now days to put tint.

First they replaced the wiper blades alone but it was a different type. So now they have ordered the original wiper blade and arms as well. Yet to arrive. So for now, im still using the current set of wipers. But they told me they can try and get for me from an existing Optima first and then replace that when my set arrives.

Does anyone here has any experience in fixing the 7" or 8" Touch Screen GPS Navigator + Bluetooth + Stereos for your K5 ? Will it void the warranty ? 

But, heard that Kia is bringing in the Touch Screen GPS cost around RM3K ?
It is say to mean if you installed it yourself outside then warranty void but if you installed it at Kia then you still got the warranty ?

The Distance to Empty (DTE) readings are only indicative. It drops faster if ure driving un-economically and drops much slower in economical driving. If ure driving at constant 110kmph, the 1 DTE kilometer actually represents 2.0km. Meaning, if ure driving at 110kmph and your DTE shows 110km then u can probably drive another 200km or so.

The fuel warning in the Optima is actually 4 stage:

1) DTE goes blank (less than 50km indicative range)
2) Low fuel light comes on when you have 2 bars left (depending on driving style)
3) 2nd bar disappears and only 1 bar remains
4) Last bar starts blinking (you can drive another 20km before you must fill)

My mileage is now 15,000 since collecting the car end April.

Hey guys, I think this is a bit of controversy... But would it be better for optima if we pump 97 instead of 95?

Bro, its actually a waste using Ron97. Using a higher grade fuel when the car only needs a lower grade doesnt give you much advantage. Maybe a slight advantage in a slightly cleaner engine but still not worth the RM3/L price tag. Plus, using a higher grade fuel would make more sense during city driving as the engine is under more stress in start stop traffic as compared to a constant speed rev on highway drives.

In my previous Vios, i used Ron 97 for a some time until i had to change to Ron95 in 2010 on instruction by my company. I didnt feel any difference and the engine and acceleration was the same.

If you are really particular, then maybe give yourself a full tank of Ron 97 once every 3 months just to clean out the engine. But seriously, i wouldnt waste money on pumping Ron97 that often.
