Actually, HLB is acting in line with Bank Negara's "Responsible Financial Guideline" to reduce individual debt ratio period. As such, they can only offer 7 years loan with immediate effect. Most of us are caught by surprise. HLB has applied this for all HP application, irrespective of makes and models, until further notice.

However, other banks are still not yet affected by this ruling at this point in time. There is a possibility that Bank Negara may impose higher restrictions in the months to come by imposing a margin ceiling of 80-85% instead of the current 90%. Therefore, those who wish to borrow to the full, my advice is better to lock in your loan now instead of later.

can range from 3.5 - 4.0%...

hmm i hope to have more feedback on this. if interest so high, then makes not much difference to buy a new car at 1.88% already..

also, how much does a normal service cost? i see from 1st page, it says RM300+ right?

Ya around that range for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd service and it will increase further for major service. Same for all cars i guess
*
i see.. this is one of my concerns before getting a car.. how much on average is the major one? 1k?

with such low interest, i think buying 2nd hand is not worth it unless u really get a very good deal. And don forget 2nd hand car u not sure what happened to the previous owner.  a lot to consider.
tq bro ... i got ur pm. Thanks!
not only service, the car insurance and etc also something u might want to consider. fuel consumption as well. every month u will have extra expenses for all these.
*
fuel should be ok, got allowance from company.. insurance around how much ya?

Ya, if 2nd hand interest really 3.5-4 is not worth to get 2nd hand.. then I wonder how those owner gonna sell their car? Anyone can reconfirm on the interest rate for 2nd hand Optima?

I saw 1 selling at 120k, put there few months dy, still there. I suppose can nego until 115k..

3.5-4% like that usually , just very seldom chances to get lower then that . even Toyota used car also same interest , no much difference for used car interest
*
if like that then new car and 2nd hand car difference only 7-8k for 7 years loan.. sweat.gif installment only difference rm80 rclxub.gif

Can get a brand new 408t for that price. Optima is certainly a pretty face, but test drive the 408t and you'll realize how much better this car is! Engine and gearbox are smooth as silk,Optima's engine sounds harsh and crude!

i see.. but im not into Peugeot.. no offence notworthy.gif

No offence taken. As said, a lot of people go for looks and K5 is certainly very good looking car!

maybe its not appropriate to ask in this thread, but of out curiosity, how much is a normal service for a 408? K5 around rm300+.. major service 800+..

Pointless asking. Servicing a new car is always cheap. Try servicing the Peugeot after 4 years. Kia wont be cheap either but still no way as expensive as Peugeot. Servicing is one thing. Part replacements is something else.
*
just want to compare the price for normal servicing, like change oil and filter etc. Not part replacements.

surveying new car? biggrin.gif

i saw from the 1st post, the service for first 50k will total around RM2.3k. probably 1 year clock up the 50k, so rm2300 / 12 months, average RM200 per month as maintenance.

I see!

Is there any difference between 2014 v 2015 in terms of design and built?
