Comrades, I've got a few problems with my car, which the SC said are common among K5s, do you have such problems?

1) the lumbar support mechanism has free play, meaning when I accelerate and decelerate, i can feel and hear a "cluck" sound from the seat, SC said it's common. My lumbar support is just lightly adjusted, around 10-20% from the off position.
2) the rear view mirror has poor quality plastics, it makes cracking noise when you squeeze it lightly or when the interior is cooling down from the hot sun. SC said it is common.
3) and off course there're the funny noises from all over the cabin

SC told me it's normal, just accept it. I disagree loh, this is not Proton, so I hope they don't treat their customers the Proton way. Btw, i'm not being overly fussy, ironically, the Rondo that they loaned me for two weeks didn't have all these annoying noises.

I'm planning to escalate my complaints and ensure that these problems are rectified.

I definitely have the driver seat lumbar support sound which annoyed me badly.

Went back twice to RedCube to get them to rectify but after 6 hrs, I was told there's nothing they can do as the seat is 'non-serviceable' and any claims would have to have the whole seat replaced.

This is definitely NOT a good answer or response!

Gonna wait till 10k service before I go bug them again.

I have the 3 years free service but I think each normal service is slightly below RM300?

My wira is special edition. I had the stock exhaust changed to a small one and the fuel consumption become a lot better.

From the numbers I dont see much different between wira and K5 after my exhaust pipe change. But Wira tend to be slightly better in fuel economy. But I must say driving K5 in semi auto mode really save a lot of petrol compare to fully Auto....

Bro, any reason why u don't prefer red cube? I am actually planning to send my car there next week for 1st service and i have some item need to feedback and hopefully they able to rectify that for me.  If they are tak kisah attitude, then i might consider other SC.  Please share with me your thoughts pls ...

Yup some pro and cons. K5 come with 8 speakers with Infinity sound system which the Cerato does not have. But generally, K5 is a bigger car, more spacious and provide more comfort for long distance driving for both owner and passenger.

K5 comes with MDPS (electric steering) but without the Flex steer option found in the Cerato. Air ventilation seat, puddle lamp and welcome lighting on the door handle are cool new some features on the Cerato not available in the K5. Those are the differences, in a nutshell.

Earlier, i also thought i prefer the facelift. but after some sifu pointed out the rear brake light, i noticed that i prefer the current K5 design.  Although the FL will have diffused rear light but somehow i prefer the current design. That's the reason why i go for current K5 instead of waiting.  And yes, with the current offer and current pricing, i do agree that if u need to change ur car now, then no point waiting.  FL will place at higher price and i will not be surprised if they are too greedy on the FL version as u can see Cerato is also placed at quite a high price already.  Kia no longer come cheap.
i faced all the 3 problems as well.  Got to call bro Lim She Wei soon to rectify those issues.  Just to add one more, the wind noise when i go more than 100KM/H and also the tyre sound. 

As for point no3, just recently i was entering the basement car park and this dude walking in front of me and guess what? he was staring at my car while walking till he bang the pillar ... that's one awkward moment to be honest. I donno want to smile at him or to pretend i don't see anything.

New facelift with Nu engine, also known as Euro Spec, comes with electric steering of MDPS. The earlier pre-facelift model with Theta II engine, only has hydraulic steering. Thanks.

hmm i hope to have more feedback on this. if interest so high, then makes not much difference to buy a new car at 1.88% already..

also, how much does a normal service cost? i see from 1st page, it says RM300+ right?

i see.. this is one of my concerns before getting a car.. how much on average is the major one? 1k?
