Yea, thats good one. Else you have to shift the gear shift, like my Camry.

Sometimes I dont know which remarks are qenuine or sarcastic anymore.....sigh....

But keep playing wit paddle shift or gear shift will damage the gearbox or not?worry gearbox can't last long

Yes and also the other remarks made comparison with a camry. Especially those in the camry vs k5 thread. Didnt know owning a k5 can get bashed so badly everywhere.

Don't care what ppl compare or not. BZ vs BW also many years wat.. Now our K5 can make T or H compare , can say korean cars has improved.

Dear all K5 owner,

Can somebody share any problem they faced with the K5 so far..? Like engine, electronic parts, suspension and some others things? Appreciated for all sharing bcoz i'm planning to get 1 Bright Silver soon..

For me, so far only minor annoying sound, reverse camera screen sometime appear sometime not..

other than that, engine , electronic parts, suspension, sound system . All good

msot of owners here faced minor issues like fold side mirror, squeaking sound, cd player load button stucked, reverse camera, steering pull to the left, and few more. Not all cars have same issues, some none at all. But most importantly, Naza Kia is more than willing to solve the issues under warranty and with great effort.

That's really comforting to hear as I have just placed an order for a white K5. The authorized service center here in Kluang has so far been pretty decent for my Naza Ria for the past 8 years or so. I do hope that they will be able to do a good job with the K5 in future especially getting things done under warranty.

For me i faced some jumpy steering issue but i guess thats just the way the car is. Not really a problem or defect. But to try and solve this 'issue', Naza Kia offered to replace both my rear shock absorbers FOC. But no difference cuz like i said before, its not really a defect. But my current problem is the stale smell for about 5 secs from the aircon when u switch it on during a cold start. But Naza Kia have now ordered a replacement aircon filter just to see if it solves the problem. Ive also faced the vibrating wiper issue for some time. Naza has now odered a replacement wiper arm & new blades for me although wipers are not covered under warranty. Naza Kia also replaced both my front fog lamps FOC when the plastic cover became bent on 1 side. Again not really their fault but they still replaced out of goodwill. No issues since then.

So far Naza Kia have been very good with the after sales service and warranty claims. But they need to reduce the lead time of replacement parts which is too long now.

I just did my 10,000km 2nd service last week and it cost me about RM280 inclusive fully syn oil, filter, allignment, balancing and wash.

i think the standard cabin air filter is normal white? coz i saw k5 cabin air filter with carbon element at ebay ~usd 12. Maybe that can solve ur stale smell.

i have tried the "set air circulation" as per bUGG tips at 1st page. But during driving, the cabin circulation will still change. Anyone knows why? CO2 content in cabin?

U have to take it back to Kia and they will set it for you. They did the same with mine. Now its fine. The smell is not from outside air since the outside air vent has now been blocked off completely. Its probably coming from mold.

Does the jumpy steering wheel problem occur at all speeds? or is it just at high speeds?

When i was test driving the K5 last week, I noticed that it was pulling slightly to the left.

The pulling effect can be easily resolved with a free allignment by Kia. I did the same for mine in the first week after purchase and its fine since.

The jumpy steering actually happens when u go over bumps and your steering 'jumps'. Can happen at any speed but on high speed highway drives, it does melt some of your confidence when it 'jumps' while ure going over rough uneven roads while taking corners at 150kmph.

I'm not a fan of korean cars but this K5 is giving me the chills. It look awesome and frankly am thinking of getting it. Me driving a Honday City at the moment. It will be a big shift for me from a JP car to a KR car. Would like to enquire:

1) Dependable meaning at least no problem to start up and run?
2) Any nagging issues for first 6 mths?
3) Fuel consumption is not entirely and issue but would like to ask as well..
4) Cost of servicing at what value for normal service?

BTW...how to enter the red cube KIA showroom at Federal Highway. Coming from KL direction.
I believe that will be the showroom and service center as well.

What I faced so far is on the alignment slight pull to the left and also the auto wiper mode not wiping at the correct speed as the rain. Sometimes when just drizzling, it will wipe real fast, or at times, does't wipe at all. When I tried to put it to manual 1st speed, it is quite fast as in it doesn't suit the drizzling rain condition. Not sure if any bro faced the same situation as me.
