You'll get better service from Authorized Service Centers. Avoid those 'Tidak Apa' Centers and save yourself teh wasted time and heartache  mad.gif

So far i am quite happy with the service center at CSL smile.gif ...

Hi jootat, yup in fact quite an active member in the FB clubs. It's puzzled them as much as the KIA guys as well..sad.gif

My bad guys if I've put this in the wrong place. Just hoping to try to put a bit of social pressure on them as they didn't seem to be sorting it out proper.
*
No worries bro, and i do understand how u feels. If want to know more or get better response i suggest go to FB. This thread feels a bit like free advertisement thread for the SA smile.gif But I do get some info here last time before deciding on my K5. Cheers

So far i only sent to Red Cube PJ once and the rest of the service i went back to CSL branch. Claimed my brake pad there too due to some annoying sound and also tuk tuk sound when over the hump ...

The only complain i have for K5 and Sportage (facelift) would be why the hell NAZA KIA still don want to include the big screen for our HU!!!! Now my wife is looking for SUV and Sportage might be out of consideration due to this. Leaning towards 3008 now for a better engine performance, large screen, premium interior and lots of features ...

Doesnt mean just cuz its a D segment it must be premium. Car segments refer to size and to some extent engine capacity. There are some C segments which are more luxurious than D segments.

Ppl buy the K5 for the following reasons / combination of reasons:

1) Exterior design - clearly one of the best on the road these days
2) Spacious interior
3) Specifications - top class features not found in other Japanese models
4) Warranty terms - 5 years unlimited mileage
5) Among the cheapest D segments in the market now
6) Top class safety features and crash ratings (higher frontal crash rating than even the BMW 5 Series)

Yes as with all cars, nothing is perfect and the K5 does have some negatives. But always keep in mind how much ure paying vs what ure getting in return.
*
fully agreed on 1 - 6. That's exactly the same reason why i choose K5 smile.gif But with the 10K increase on the current facelift, i would expect they include the touch screen + navigation though. just my point of view smile.gif but no doubt, after owning that super duper nice K5 for more than 1 year now, no regrets at all. hahaa ...

What 10K finish? Its only 6K difference with the previous model. But with discounts you can get it at around 146K with 2 years free maintenance as well.

Small price to pay for the amount of additional features.
*
closed to 10K la if compare to the discounts (low interest rate + cash discount) we get from the old model vs without any discounts now (but probably some SA starting to give discounts now as well which i am not too sure).

3008 is a very good choice. Test drive it and you will immediately feel the engine and chassis superiority.

Chassis and suspension are so well set up that although this is an SUV,there is virtually no body roll at fast corners. It rides like a sedan, not bouncy!

The engine is delightful, smooth and effortless,no strains upon hard acceleration. This 1.6 THP engine (EP6CDTM) is proving very reliable and won the 'Engine of the year' award for the 8th consecutive year in Europe.

This version of Prince engine 1st appeared on the 408. Check 408 forum, more that a 100 owners there, not a single complaint on the engine! Now 308,Citroen DS4 & DS5 share the same engine. Due to it reliability I would not be surprised all future Pugs with 1.6THP engine will be this one.

Please note,I am only saying how good the 3008 is,this does not mean the Sportage is bad. One has to test drive both vehicles and make his choice.
*
Thanks bro ... let my wife decide but probably i will be the one test drive it... tested sportage last year, and will definitely give 3008 a test drive as well smile.gif

but the sales man said the current cerato is CKD? if that's the case, then feels like it's not a "free upgrade" since the 1st batch of K3 are CBU?

Don said dreaming, i am hoping they do the same for sportage. hahaa...

QUOTE(Buydirect @ Aug 6 2014, 12:50 PM)
The 8 inch Touch screen display is outsourced by Naza directly and not from Korea. As such any 8 inch Head Unit will only be available for CKD models, and not semi-KD units such as K5, Sportage or Sorento.

Firstly, the cost to import any 8 inch Head Unit (complete with DVD/GPS) pre-installed from Korea will be very high and may not be viable in our competitive auto market. Secondly, there is a question of after-sales support for the GPS software as well as the hardware i.e repairs, replacement, change of parts that require local support and volume.
*
so meaning there are not plans for changing the HU to touch screen for sportage at near future?

Thinking of buying a K5 around year 2013...
Which around rm50k...

I am thinking whether any major problem with d car?
Easily breakdown & etc?
And how is d fuel?

I am driving city 2013 currently...
Thinking to change to as initially i reali like dis car when it 1st launch..
I see 2014 facelifted will fetch around 75k adi...
*
R you sure you can get RM50K for 2013 K5? If yes, please check carefully the condition of the car. I have just trade in my 2013 last month and the dealer took it at RM63K (Lowest I got quoted was RM59K). Basically the car is good and had never gave me any problem before. My car is still in great condition when i trade in; just few scratches which is quite normal i guess. I still love this car even till now but it will only remain in my memory.

The only concern that you might consider is the fuel consumption if you are coming from B segment to D segment. And of course the maintenance fees will be higher for you after the upgrade. Go try out the sound system, that's the best part of this car IMO.

Ok,noted bro,thx for d details...
Ya,d price different is quite big actually...
2013 i search from mudah is aound 55k,highest is about 70k...
I might try to hunt for 1 around 60k,year 2013 to 2014...
*
All the best bro. Don fall under the trap in Mudah as alot of posting there is "fishing" ... they purposely list the price lower. To be honest, 2013, please expect around 65 - 70K. Anything lower, it's depend on your luck. All the best bro.

Den i am late for a month for ur unit...
If not,i can get maybe rm60k?
Hahaha, see if i manage to get direct owner will be gd...
Thx for all d advice bro...
*
if we get in touched 1 month ago i would consider letting it go to you between 60-62K but since it was trade in to a dealer, of course they also need to make a profit la. So i don't think you can get anything at this price range unless you get it direct from owner.
