It's stated in p1.com.my and the cheapest fiber offering in town.
My current unified contract might have expired (after two years) and
do you think they will counter offer me with better price if I request for cancellation and switch to P1's fiber ?

rm99 is for 4G, with download speed up to 1mbps.

and the fiber plan with 5mbps download speed would cost rm169 per month with 50GB quota.

is this what you were referring to?

I'm referring to fiber (not 4G) with 5 Mb/s and unlimited quota.

that depends on each person i guess. since everyone has their own objective of getting internet.

for me, it'd be(from most important to least):
1) price
2) download quota
3) stability
4) speed

then I determine which package to take accordingly.

Based on just pricing and speed alone, it does seem to be a good deal especially for those currently on Streamyx 512/1mbps. More or less the same price but 5mbps.

For someone who doesn't need the iptv and house phone (like me hehe),
a savings of RM50 is quite worth it.
Right?

The only thing I want to know now is the stability compared to Maxis and Unifi.

Argh, did some gugeling and it seems it will be like Maxis. The overseas ping will be a bit worse than Unifi (because of the extra hops), so not very good for people who have gaming in mind.

5. Is there a penalty if I terminate my subscription within the contract period?
Yes, the penalty charge is the total monthly fees of the remaining contract period should you you terminate within 24 months.

expire means no longer under contract...you can choose go upgrade or downgrade your plan...but you can still maintain your line and get the unipack price !

Thanks for reminding me!
I forgot about that.

But still, I might want to jump onto this one.
It's a better deal for me compared to Maxis RM118 or even worse Unifi RM150.
I don't need IPTV or a house phone.
Just straight up high speed internet for a work horse.

Currently using Unifi BIZ50 x 4 which cause me Rm3.6k/month .... thinking to change if maxis/p1 offered 50mbps cheaper. Dynamic IP, no iptv, no phone, nothing, just plain data plan...

my experience so far:

1) submitted my interest on their website 11th Aug Saturday night.
agent called Monday morning to confirm my interest and emailed to me what to do to apply.

I dilly dally, scared will be same as maxis and do a lot of research, nothing found.
end up tried their staff's fiber at his home, so far okay.
no redirection or disconnection.

2) emailed everything and signed the registration form thursday 23th Aug
received sms acknowledgement the next day Friday
followed by an email with all particulars and voip tel number,
someone will call me within 3 working days to confirm appt for installation.

3) now waiting.

What I am happy with:
Good service so far.
Unlimited quota stated clearly
30 days money back
Cheap RM99 p/month for 5mb

What I am not happy with:
no iptv, but not really important to me
weird terms/condition, must make call on tel at least once a month.
default e-billing, paper bill add rm5
Voip phone is green colour, wired.

This is the main difference between a personal and biz broadband users.
Biz owners do not tolerate hanky panky service like maxis ftth.
Biz owners will not hesitate to sue them if their service is not on par.

this can be used as an evidence against them if necessary.

I asked p1 regarding the pricing and the quota faq and here is the answer by them. At first they said the price will be the same even after contract mean 5mbps remain RM99, 10mb remain RM199 but after that they change the answer to revert back to normal price after the contract.

For the quota query, after I ask them for few times, they just remove the faq 11 from their website. So I assume it is true unlimited quota without quota implementation even future..

Based on my prior experience with P1, since they say you can terminate without penalty only when the contract expires, be prepared to be hit with the RM149/RM329 full month payment on the 25th month even if you plan to terminate in that same month.

No pro-rated charges applied when it comes to termination, meaning 1 day of use in the 25th month = they will charge whole month. Beware of that before subscribing.

Router issue.
What is the point of having a high speed internet if it doesn't work.

There's a drawback of P1 that I could think off.

One must remember to call once a month.

Other wise, normal price throughout the contract.

And you can't cancel.

There is a minimum contract period of 24 months for the promo RM99 package.
Price remain RM99 per month as long as you do not terminate the contract.
The person who tells you that the price will revert back to non promo price is wrong.

ya, I'm being told by the P1 staff that within contract 24months, price is RM99 as long as didnt terminate contract, but after contract 24months end, price increase to normal.. and I'm actually double confirm it by asking through their email and also facebook.. so confused now..

make it simple for you.
RM99 per month as long as you make minimum one call that month on the tel.
else the price will be normal for that month.
after 24 months, the price will STILL be rm99 as long as you did not terminate the contract.

==========================================================
Minimum contract period for the service is 24 months (as opposed to 24 months contract)
after 24 months price MUST STAY if contract is not terminated
whoever told you that the price will be reverted back has no idea about contract law.
This is a minimum 24 months contract NOT 24 months contract.

Their FAQ:
4. Is there a minimum contract period when I subscribe to ForBiz™ Fiber?
Yes, there is a minimum 24-month contract period when you subscribe to ForBiz™ Fiber.

example, maxis 10mb ftth, normal price rm218, promo now rm138
minimum contract period 24 months.
*both parties to the contract aka maxis and user agrees to be bound to the contract for at least 24 months.
*the price must stay at the promo rate if contract is not terminated by either party after 24 months.
if the contract are allowed to continue, the terms of the contract must not change.
if maxis want to charge rm218 after contract, then a new contract must be agreed upon and signed.

likewise streamyx 512kbps upgrade me promo
contract 12 months, price remain the same as long as contract is not terminated.
ditto grad pack, laptop promo etc etc

no one by law are allowed to change the terms of the contract unless all parties to the contract agree,
else there is no contract.

P/S
If P1 sales agent or customer service says otherwise,
ask them to ask their legal dept and refer to their contract.

Coverage seems to be the same as Unifi, my money it is using Unifi infra for this. Thought RM99 for 24 months contract, looks good. Too bad my area don't have. tongue.gif
