AVG used to sucks.
Back to 4 years ago it cant detect a virus ("RavmonE.exe") after update, update and update which lie quietly in my PC until it affect my fren pendrive and in turn affect my fren laptop sweat.gif
After manually delete that virus i gave up the AVG and use Avira instead until now. Both new PC and old laptop using Avira. rclxms.gif

Avast free antivirus, been using it for quite some years, so far so good.
Combo it with the default Windows Defender.

Cloud antiviruse are lightweight and efficient with an active Internet connection.

Try Panda Cloud or Immunet.

Do have a look at microsoft security essentials which is pretty good and runs without hogging computer performance.

already use MSE yesterday fr my w7 ideapad. seems good until i realize that many function in windows not working such as power plan, the close lid option, hd graphic and also effect the tune up utilities software.. so i decide to uninstall it the everything going back to normal....

so my suggestion is just give it the try, if you are not satisfied, uninstall it...

cheers..

Been using for years, never encounter such issue. Perhaps you needed to reset the whole power plan options.
