Hi,

I've confirmed that my MGQP for each equity fund is not equivalent to the amount i invested/switch over. As per my previous example, i switch over 7k worth of PFES to PFSF but my MGQP is 9k plus. I wonder why.
*
From my 1 year more experience with PMO, I dun see any direct method to see the total investment number. PMO also do not wish to show that as it will directly show ur current profit or loss. It is always better to keep our own record.

Recently, I noticed that PM website is not proper managed. 2 things I observed:

First, the "Daily NAV price posting" hv some error when u want to check it, like yesterday around 7pm, the whole page is blank, it is only recover around 8pm something.

Second, some outdated promotion still display, like the PMO promotion from 1 Aug to 31 Oct, which is already outdated 2 months, still display !!

I hope PM can improved that, do u all hv other comment.

First, to get an idea what funds are EPF approved, take a look into the Public Mutual website... look into the fund prices, select "EPF" to narrow down the long list of funds... then look into the performance chart for that fund....

Anyway, the top 3 EPF-approved funds in Public Mutual in 2012:
1) Public Islamic Select Enterprises Fund (17.6%)
2) Public Focus Select Fund (16.7%)
3) Public Islamic Dividend Fund (16.5%)

(with corrections: Public Focus Select Fund is number 2... and pushes Public Islamic Equity Fund to 4th place.)
The top 3 local PM funds in 2012:
1) Public Islamic Select Enterprises Fund (17.6%)
2) Public Islamic Opportunities Fund (16.7%)
3) Public Focus Select Fund (16.7%)

The top 3 foreign PM funds in 2012:
1) Public Far-East Property & Resorts Fund (27.4%)
2) Public Singapore Equity Fund (19.3%)
3) Public South-East Asia Select Fund (16.6%)

All of them were above 15% for the year; with PFEPRF above 25%.

Now the big question: which fund will best perform in 2013?

Added on January 2, 2013, 5:14 pmThe top 5 PB series in 2012 (% from 1/1/12 to 28/12/12 or 31/12/12)
1) PB Singapore Advantage-30 Equity Fund (22.0%)
2) PB Asean Dividend Fund (21.3%)
3) PB Asia Real Estate Income Fund (18.7%)
4) PB Islamic Equity Fund (16.5%)
5) PB Islamic Asia Strategic Sector Fund (14.4%)

From the performance chart... http://www.publicmutual.com.my/application...formancenw.aspx
and a bit of work... select date range from 1/1/12 to 31/12/12... go through the whole list of funds... and tabulate them.

Could also do a table on monthly, and quarterly increments... instead of waiting for out-dated reports...  hopefully can see patterns showing which fund will go up or down LOL.
*
I also know that, I just wonder u hv any advance method to get this data. Myself also done some "hardwork" to check the 4433 analysis on all PM fund (total 94). But it is very time consuming.

anyone here invest without going through agent?
*
I buy my first fund thru Public Bank (PB series fund) and applied PMO the same time. All my following fund is buy thru PMO, the service charge is same, but u can wait for promotion period with 5.00% service charge and 5.25% for DDI.

Thanks for the input. Any suggestion what bond fund (shariah compliance) is good to start now?  notworthy.gif

And, if i'm gonna open 1 epf fund, can u suggest what type it shud be? i mean, bond or equity or etc.
*
Based on my recently analysis on PM bond fund, the best non-close bond fund will be PBSKF and PBBOND, or u hv 100k, can choose PEBF and PIEBF.

PEBF and PIEBF minimum investment 100K?
*
Yes, both initial and additional investment is set to 100k. As I understand, it is change sometime ago and not from the begining. My friend have this fund but he can't add on anymore due to 100k constraint.

wow... why they want to increase the limit until so high? This will get them less sales...
*
I don't know actual reason, but my friend told the fund performance become very good after that. It seen like they want to lock the low activity that affect the fund performance. Logic? I am not sure.

want to ask,
the minimum amount that need to be in account must more that 1k or can less?
cos i read from somewhere state that if the account value lower that 1k, the account will be close..
*
Normally minimum investment is RM1k. and u need to maintain minimum 1k unit before the account to be closed.

thanks

Initial purchase is min RM1k.
When u switching or repurchase, need to left min 1k unit.
One is buy and one is sell.

my account only have 1 fund,
after i repurchase, the total value of fund less that rm 1k,
will my account close down or ?
*
After u repurchase, u need keep min 1000 unit, not money value.
But for ur account with PM, I am not sure will closed or not. Normally people hv few fund, only the fund account will closed down.

Hi guys, any good equity fund to recommend except PIX (as I just switched it to PSBF)?
*
PFSF look good. But one question, u buy under EPF? As I know, PSBF should be closed for normal investment.

PFSF = Public Focus Select Fund?

Yes, I switched to PSBF from PIX which is previously from my EPF.
*
Yes, public focus select fund, it just outperform my favorite Smallcap fund.
If you switch from EPF, should choose pb islamic bond fund (the best bond fund for public and only can invest thru EPF now).

This new fund's proposed portfolio is like Public enhanced bond where 70% in Fixed income, 30% equity. But then Public enhanced bond fund's initial service charge is only 0.25%, compared to this newly launched fund charging 5.5%. Another overcharged service charge fund from PM/PB.
*
Although 0.25%, but I got no RM100k to invest into Public Enhanced Bond Fund, how?
So, PM know to control their marketing strategics and make u buy the new fund.

I am just checking on their latest report, see below. There are about 86% of the fund owner not reaching 100k, which they are purchase before the rule change. So they are really "lock" up this fund, can see can not buy for most people, rclxm9.gif

Far-East... but looking into its year-end report, it is in sing, mal, indo & thai.

It seems that I am not receiving any financial year-end reports lately by mail (since July?)... did PM stop it? The e-reports in their website is no good - they don't have the last few pages showing the list of invested companies unlike their 'booklet' report by mail.
*
Did PM send u fund report by email? I only hv weekly review report by email. That report is different with what we can download from PMO?

No, I was referring to the year-end financial statements - this is the link http://www.publicmutual.com.my/OurProducts...EquityFund.aspx

I used to get them by snail mail or post... also the half year interim reports... got a whole stack of these booklets, which is in 3 languages... and at the last several pages as notes to the financial statements, the whole long list of companies/securities/warrants, etc. invested with details of cost, market value & percentage of the entire fund.

The financial statements in their website is missing these notes showing this long list of companies...
*
Do u hv PMO account? I just check my fund report, the financial statement that u refer to is partial of the complete report. If u login to PMO and download the complete report inside it, u will see the company listing in the complete report.
