Heavyarm stated that those Rosewill9100 BL boards are OEM by iRocks.

But I-rocks board also quite solid afaih, just that the deal breaker this time is the weird left and right modifiers size... doh.gif

Normal boards using standard 1.25x sized modifiers keys(Ctrl, Alt, Win & Menu) for both left and right side.
That mean 7 of the modifiers keys(from left to right) will result a total 8.75x, which the remaining 6.25(15 - 8.75) is the size for standard spacebar.

For razer and most iOne OEM boards case, they are following an older(still exist and being used but less popular nowadays) standard. 1.5x sized keys for Ctrl and Alt and 1x sized for Window and menu. That will some up to a total of 9, where as the remaining 6 is the size for the spacebar.

Of course there are also many others weird standard out there. Corsair K60/90 is a good example.

o.O..... wonder why they like to create all this different standards/ layouts....
it's not only troublesome for people to get to used to, it is also difficult for people to buy keycaps to fit the board...

are you looking at SS7G?

You can get
- cherry G80-3800 at RM199
- rosewill rk-9000 at RM299
- Filco, Leopold, Ducky from RM300 - RM450

not to mention from Taobao - PLUM, PLU, Keycool, etc. RM200+- shipped.

of course there's still something crazy.. like custom boards which easily shoot over RM1k, and boards that uses Topre switch like Realforce and HHKB pro2

The reason why keybaord manufacturers don't keep to a particular key cap size is because most of them never take changing key caps into consideration. Sometimes end users know more than manufacturers, seriously.

I'm sure a few of you have a lot of experience receiving keycaps in a bubble mailer, like from people in the US and SP. Is there any possibility of damage to the ABS keycaps when the post office guys do their "chop" - you know the rubber stamp that says DILEPASKAN... ? I've received single caps in the bubble mailers and they turned up OK. But half of them were PBT. Singapore Post uses stickers instead of the "chop" which I think is safer for keycaps. Your opinions please.
*
I got 3 bubble mailers from foreign country so far, they all avoided the "chop",
I think it depend on luck mostly, if the key are deep in the corner near the stamp,
they might "kena chop" also when the post office "chop" the stamp.

That is... us, the consumers' main headache doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif
because changing keycaps are one of the fun factors of owning a mechanical keyboard
