Ebay seller wants USD15 for 10 pcs of brown. Salvaging the keys from keyboard is only RM 1.9 a pc. Pain in the @ but you'd save about 2.5X money and allows you to hone your desoldering skills

Since it is PCB mounted switch, without soldering skill also can salvage the core component of the switch - spring and stem.

That's cause you are not looking at the right places . tongue.gif

Cheaper switches, pay the expensive EMS cost, and still end up better off than desoldering the board.
Of course, minimum quantity applies.

Plus, not sure who wants to salvage them.
The Red and Black stems are useless. Only vintage blacks are good.
Brown stems might be okay, but not many modders like them. Blue stems is the only interesting one.

As to the springs, Red/Brown/Blue springs are generally thought to be nice for Ergo Clears (Clear stem with these springs), but I beg to differ. Korean 62g springs is where the fun is at. More spring to push the stem back up. Otherwise the ergo clear would feel quite sticky.

oooh lala~~
CNC service. Now we need people who knows some CAD for custom case design.

for the CNC service, quite nice!, not sure if steel is possible or not, based on their picture product, i think their CNC machine is for wood.

Btw, as for the switch, i'm going to sell them soon, but not new thou. mainly due to i have alot of rejected leopold keyboard which failed in my quality checking. I'm going to desolder them all, and sell to get back the capital.

But so far, don't have the time due to work. I'm going to stop working next few week to get my lazy ass to desolder all the things and double shot keycap for sales.

you're not missing out anything yet. so don't worry.

As for the Switches, i estimated total 1k switches available, 4 types available, but i have pick out the bad ones, so the numbers can't be confirm yet.

If i'm free enough, i might just take all the spare steel plate, brush off the black paint, and spray the Red Paint on it.(still considering)

As for the Doubleshot Keycaps, it's the Running man ESC, Black On Yellow, and White on Red. and well as others.

That's my plan for now. which will happen on Mid of October, which i will just stop working for 1 week, and start the desolder keyboard frenzy

Yes. I heard old model is brown switch. Then latest model Advance LF (linear Force) got Red Switch

From wiki:
The top row of keys, including the escape key and function keys, are small soft-touch keys with membrane dome switches. The remaining keys are standard size and each has its own Cherry MX brown key switch, providing a tactile feel, but no click. A piezo buzzer provides optional key click.

Kinesis Advantage, original/1st hand price over 300USD IIRC.

Added on September 26, 2012, 4:25 pmBTW, I had not visit(surfing thoroughly) GH for a long time(around half year). And when I visit it back just now, I noticed a thread I started back in April.
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=29605.0

From there, I tracked back to the China forum and realized that my dream board had released. Time to poke another hole in my wallet.

Side note: the kb come with PBT(white)/POM(black) keycaps and wireless ability + predrilled holes and circuit for Backlit modding. brows.gif

i've been stopped selling them for quite some times due to no stock, so i temporally edit the signature.

because there's numbers of people asking me about leopold keyboard, and i've reply with no stock for the moment, having my signature there without having any stock kinda defeats the purpose.
