is that when the PVR STB signal is lower, then picture quality of the HD channel will be grainier? Mine is around 45db only for Tuner 1 and 2, but the signal quality is 100%.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Oct 24 2012, 05:13 PM) their HD channels are all supposedly broadcast in either 720p or 1080i as advertised, right? Can you check what's the signal strength from your STB? I noticed that when the signal strength is low, some HD channel quality will be grainier. After I re-adjust the satelite dish myself and installed in-line amplifier, the grainy picture is no more. Previously my signal strength is just around 42db. Now I around 70db.just last night after watching my downloaded 720p Walking Dead S03E01, then switch to Astro, just in time to catch the same episode on Starworld HD As my memory is still very fresh from just watching the downloaded version, i noticed that the Astro version is darker, dimmer, grainier and not as clear as the downloaded 720p version I've just watch Is Astro actually broadcast in lower res than advertised? Added on October 24, 2012, 5:19 pm I guess it pretty much depends on the installer in your area mine installed 3 times, all responded within 1 week subscribe Superpack on Tuesday, Friday came install liao then took the free upgrade to PVR on Monday, Thursday came then took the 2nd decoder @ RM50 on Friday eve, Monday morning want to came install liao all by different installer, and when I check with them on their schedules, they are uber packed, so many orders until hardly got time for a meal all ever since Astro introduced the superpack packages |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Oct 30 2012, 07:36 AM) FMP HD, AXN HD, FX HD, Food Network Asia HD & LI HD just got BM & Chinese subs starting today. I thought few weeks ago I already got BM and Chinese subtitles for these channels. BTW, I think the sub is way too big and ugly. Also they don't have english sub as always...[attachmentid=3127366][attachmentid=3127367][attachmentid=3127368][attachmentid=3127369][attachmentid=3127372][attachmentid=3127374][attachmentid=3127375][attachmentid=3127376][attachmentid=3127377][attachmentid=3127378] Now, if only AXN HD properly scale 4:3 video... |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Oct 30 2012, 05:05 PM) Just a noob question. I am a new subscriber to Astro. They will provide you with B.yond STB as well. For PVR, the STB is different, larger and produces more heat due to there's an internal HDD running all the time. What set-top boxes will they give me (old STB or B.yond) if i don't want the HD or PVR services? |
