Qash M - how is the free deepavali ch comprising Vijay, Jaya, Kalaignar etc. Astro records the respective channel's program n schedule it? Any pixs?

Qash-M -- thanks....does the big astro logo appears in the banner even when you channel surf....it doesn't display channel logo or the channel u are surfing?

Oic...maybe they want to keep reminding viewers that they are using Astro. These is how the mio TV n Starhub banner looks like when u switch to the channel or doing surfing. Mio is better. Cheers.

For FTA chs, yes HD5 is the only one. However, the Malay subts are only for selected prime time progs. Usually, its both BM n Chinese subts. They are hard coded, cannot be enable on or off with a DVB-T receiver. I try to take a pix if I chance upon it.

Nope...only Chinese subts as they are always available by default. The argument is that most ppl understand English.....think Astro is able to provide Malay due to some cost agreement. Here are some pixs. For FTA suria, English also made It's way into a promo spot. God knows why....

current is DVB-T......suspect DVB-T2 signals should be already in testing stage.....MDA claims the news of DVB-T2 decoders availability will be announced in Mar next year.

Oh yes, I read.....the time table is too loog for rollout! Media prima should take the lead to at least advance to SD 16:9 broadcast. They will take a hit only when they realized they have a lot of catchin up to do. cheers!

The BPL matches that Astro secured are not exclusive right? Nit mentioned anywhere in the press release.....similar to Singtel......meaning others like hypp, abnxcess etc. Still can get non exclusive rights?

Oic.....btw, in HK, cable operator lost next 3 season rights to IPTV operator, now TV. News announced yesterday. cheers.

Fyi. Astro seems to have added n testing Vijay TV on the KU band at 11102 V 30000 according to info on the net.

Qash-M -- yes, read abt Nat geo music HD....also CNNI International HD is now on air in Intelsat 8!

AETN ad sales are outsourced to SPE ad sales unit....hence proabably, the airing of promos on AETN are some joint co-op.

Wat time did u took the pix? The font looks like the standard font used by FOX international chs.....the subtitles seems to be of tv drama nature....so maybe its tvN?

Starhub defaults it to Chinese.....btw, seems like Boomerang Asia is being transformed to Toonami Asia. The EPG for this sat already show signs of Toonami progs, in SD.
