My plan is to able to watch Astro in every rooms of my hosue (say 4 rooms).

Anyone can help with my technical questions? Sorry if these are stupid questions..I am just not good with tech stuffs.

1) Can I install Astro cables in all rooms but using only 1 satelite disc?
2) If (1) is 'yes', does it mean that everyone can only watch the same channel at the same time?
3) If (1) is 'yes', does it mean I just lay all the astro cables to each room? Will these cables be connected?
4) If (1) is 'no', what are my options?

Thank you.

1) Yes, the other 3 TV will be using a aerial wire via splitter.
2) Yup, same channel only as it receive signal from the main decorder.
3) If u mean astro cable is an aerial wire, then yes. if u mean satellite wire from disk to decoder then no.
4) Other option, u may use Astro Multiroom. Just add Rm50 from your current Astro subscription

Hi Bro... notworthy.gif
Fyi me juz tried changing Sat Settings to User Defined #1.
However, there is even a drop in Signal Strength (only 146) in my case...as probly due2 wat yu mentioned above.  sad.gif

Consequently, me hv reverted to ori settings ie giving me values of abt 156/154.  tongue.gif

Does the abv mean the Sat Dish needs 2b re-aligned? TQ.

I'm not sure if this helps but my Byond(non PVR) by default was selecting entry point 1 in 'Installation Setting -> Satelite' but I changed it to point 13(measat 3A). Signal went from ~ 170 to 244 but at least my ESPN HD was watchable now. Was keep getting 'Raining, No signal' before that on ESPN HD channel. The rest of the HD channel no problem though with entry point 1.

Saw some discussion before about the entry point before but can't really recall.

Thks a meg, Bro, 4yr suggestion abv !! notworthy.gif

I've tried practically all the other Entry Points listed in Sat Install'n Settings. All gave lower Signal Strength than Entry Point #1 (156 -158 fluctuating with lowest @154/154 ). sad.gif

Entry Pt #13 & abv are supposed 2b 4Measat 3A (which me rber reading somewhere) is for mainly HD Channels. However becoz both Sats are close 2each other, appears diff is negligible/insignificant. tongue.gif

Latest me tried was the User Defined wan. Pls see earlier posts.
Gave me almost same results as #1 ie 154/154.

Btw Sig Strength values are diff for Byond Decoders & PVR....probly coz diff units used.

Added on October 29, 2012, 10:32 pmps. Gotta kinda feeling that Signal Strength is affected by our individual locations eg Northern, Central or Southern....dun really kno....

The difference in Signal Strength was very obvious with the old Decoders...compared readings between mine & frens/relatives in Penang. Btw me am way up North.... tongue.gif

So cld it be similarly affected with the Byond Std/PVR Decoders? rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure why my sure gave a stronger signal on entry point 13. Just re-check back my entry point 1, still lower around 190 compared to point 13 which's ~240. I don't have friends with PVR. Thats why never check out how the usual signal level of Byond PVR. I guess maybe still need to refer back to the installer as sometime the dish positioning really affect the signal quality although it's just marginally out of position..

I thought few weeks ago I already got BM and Chinese subtitles for these channels. BTW, I think the sub is way too big and ugly. Also they don't have english sub as always...

They will provide you with B.yond STB as well. For PVR, the STB is different, larger and produces more heat due to there's an internal HDD running all the time.
